“When it comes to this guy, I have no chill. I never did.”. As everyone knows by now, I’m never not ecstatic about a new Sarina Bowen book. It’s because she never disappoints and Sure Shot proves that once again. Nearly a decade ago, when new sports agent Bess Beringer was young and impressionable, she met the charming and irresistible hockey player Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz. It may not have been love at first sight, but it was definitely lust at first sight. But after rocking each other’s worlds for a while, Bess ended things because a professional woman in sports who wants to be taken seriously can’t have affairs with players. But now, as Bess is about to turn 30 and start a new chapter of her life with her agency in NYC, Tank, as irresistible as ever, saunters back in to her life. He’s freshly separated from his wife and newly traded to the Brooklyn Bruisers, with rumors surrounding both circulating. He’s everything she shouldn’t want. And she wants everything he can’t give her. But that doesn’t stop Tank from wanting her, or Bess from falling hard and fast for him. I’ve loved every Sarina Bowen couple, but Bess and Tank have absolutely skated their way into my top five favorites. I’m always a sucker for a good second chance romance and their story hit every high note for me. They’d previously been more than just a one night stand, but not so serious that their breakup had left any major beef between them, so they were able to fall back into a smoking hot physical relationship as they also slowly descended further and further into real feelings. Which is basically my version of book crack. Bess is everything I love in a heroine. She’s smart and sassy and aggressively chases whatever it is she wants. And her connection with the lovable grump that is Tank was undeniable. The banter, the chemistry, but most importantly, their honest connection, were all outstanding. There were so many more layers to Tank than I was expecting and that was just the icing on the cake of an already stunning book. I got hooked by their quippy comments, but I fell completely in love with their vulnerability with each other. The magic of Sarina Bowen books tends to be that every time I read a new one, it’s like reconnecting with old friends and this is especially true of her Brooklyn series. But even more magical is Bowen’s ability to directly address difficult subjects with respect and a thoughtfulness that adds a deeper emotional layer to every book she writes. And Sure Shot was no different. There’s a more serious side to the relationship between Bess and Tank that involves some of Tank’s insecurities and the circumstances that surround the reason his marriage fell apart that definitely left me utterly emotional. The realness of the situation and the toll it takes on people, especially people in relationships, was meaningful and I was so glad to see Bowen tackle it and handle it with such grace and thought. Everything about this book was absolutely satisfying, so much so that I’ve found myself in a book slump ever since finishing it. The book hasn’t even been released yet, and I’ve already contemplated rereading it twice. Pick this book up when it comes out tomorrow, May 12th. You won’t regret it. I was graciously given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loved Bess and Tamk. I absolutely loved Bess and Tank! Grumpy, misunderstood hero. Independent, career-focused heroine who is ready to settle down but definitely NOT with a hockey player. I liked the history that these two had with each other. But primarily I just was carried along their journey, rooting for them both the whole time. It was also interesting to have a storyline the he had struggled through in the past that you don’t usually see from the man’s perspective. I always enjoy Sarina Bowen’s books, but this one is a top one of the series for me. It’s also a decent place to jump in if you haven’t read the rest of the series, as this book is focused a lot on the couple, and Tank is a new character.

All the Stars!!!!!. I started my Sarina Bowen binge with the True North series in early 2019. I loved Dave Berringer and he led me the Bruisers. I have been waiting for Dave's sister, Bess, to get her HEA for what feels like forever. There's something about a fierce female character killing in a male-dominated field. Bess is a goal setter, a chaser of opportunities, and a boss at the negotiating table. She's one of my favorite characters of all time. Tank is such a sweetheart, even though reconnecting with Bess couldn't have come at a worse time for him. He's finalizing his divorce, he was just traded, and his teammates definitely don't seem to be getting on Team Tank. When I started this book, I just knew in my soul that there were going to be parts that absolutely broke my heart. I shed more than few tears reading this story but I loved every single second of it. I'm also keeping all my fingers crossed that there's more to come from the fantastic lady bosses from this story. I really can't wait to see what comes next!

Perfect Blend of all the Good Stuff!. I have oodles and oodles of love for this book!! I always know I am going to be so thoroughly entertained and satisfied reading one of Sarina Bowen’s books! She’s an excellent storyteller and this is the perfect blend of incredibly lovable characters, emotion, passion, humor and hockey all wrapped up in one amazing story. I love the Brooklyn Bruisers series and can’t possibly pick a favorite, but If I could it might be this one. Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz and Bess Beringer see each other again for the first time in almost a decade. They had a brief fling all those years ago but Bess was just starting out as a sports agent and she thought hooking up with a hockey player was not the best idea, so she broke it off. Fast forward 9 years and the chemistry and attraction is still there. Actually it is stronger and deeper. Seeing their sparks turn into a full blown five alarm fire is the best thing ever! There is so much to Mark and I love when he finally lets Bess all the way and likewise really. I felt for Tank so much I just wanted to hug him so bad for all he went through. And Bess too, for all the awful things she went through as a child. They are such special and amazing people no doubt due to their inner strength and heart. There is no way you can read this and not fall in love with this couple and root for them every single moment to find their HEA. I absolutely adore Mark and Bess so much!!

Brooklyn Bruisers Fun. Some days, more than others, one just needs to escape reality. Especially now during this pandemic and forced quarantine. Nothing like escaping into the world of the Brooklyn Bruisers! sure Shot by Sarina Bowen is the latest installment in this wonderful, fun and lighthearted romance series they revolves around the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team. In this latest story, readers get to delve further into the background of famed athlete agent Bess Beringer; whose older brother Dave recently retired from the team. Bess is a work-aholic who has come up with her 5 year plan to focus on improving her own life... or to have a life rather. Mark “TANK” Tankiewicz is the newest member of the Bruisers; recently acquired on a trade. Mark also just happens to be the one guy that Bess has never managed to forget. In typical Sarina Bowen style, readers are completely entranced by these characters and the scene. The characters are well written and relatable. There is also more to the story than just fluff...a surprise situation that the characters will be for3d to recognize and handle. A perfect escape read. Can be read as a stand-alone but of course, the entire series is fabulous so why not read them all!

Emotional and steamy!. I have been loving the Brooklyn series by Sarina Bowen and was very excited when I learned a new story was coming. In Sure Shot we meet Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz and Bess Beringer. Tank has just been traded to the Brooklyn Bruisers and Bess is now back in NYC. Perfect timing? Their attraction and chemistry is instant and undeniable as they share a bit of history. As a sports agent, Bess normally stays away from athletes, but Tank is different. For Tank, Bess makes him feel again. I loved the characters and their journey so much. Sure Shot by Sarina Bowen was a steamy and emotional read that dealt with some serious subjects that makes you feel. A definite must-read second chance romance! Happy reading!

Can’t stop re-reading. Wonderful romance and terrific characters. Sure Shot by Sarina Bowen is one of those books that I simultaneously read super fast and then slowly … devouring the words to get to “what’s next” while realizing that that the faster one reads, the faster the ending comes….and what an ending! This book is the latest in the Brooklyn Bruisers series, but can be read as a standalone. If you haven’t read anything in the series, you can read this book, but you’ll want to read the whole series … immediately. Ms. Bowen’s writing style is superb. Sure Shot is another example of how she masterfully weaves the storylines and books together in a way that they slightly overlap more so than books that occurs in sequential order. When I read them, I often pick up on a hint or tip from another book that sends me on a journey to find the passage in another book. But the best part about her books, and Sure Shot as well, are the characters. They are well developed and realistic. Tank is overcoming a life blow with the loss of his marriage as he trades into the Bruiser’s hockey organization. He is honest and knows he needs to make up a lot of ground as he joins a team where there is animosity towards him. He becomes singled minded in his pursuit of Bess, which leads to heart pounding scenes and dialogues. Bess is an agent who represents several Bruiser players. She’s got a 5 year plan that she’s trying to put in action. Familiar characters from previous books abound … all of them … which is one of the great parts of this book and the series. When I finished this book, I was in a complete funk and couldn’t stop the re-read … it’s like moving away from a place you love with friends you love … you can’t believe it’s no longer there. Sure Shot has romance-laced dialogue that will have you sighing out lout and sizzling scenes that will melt your e-Reader! … but it’s more that that. Serious issues such as infertility, family, and life goals are woven in. This book gets 5 stars from me because it’s terrific and I immediately started the re-read. I received an ARC; this is my honest review.

A MUST READ sports romance!. NO SPOILERS! Sarina Bowen did an amazing job with Sure Shot, and I absolutely loved Tank and Bess’s sexy, funny, and swoon-worthy story! The storyline was excellent and very entertaining. I didn’t really know what to expect for Sure Shot’s plot, but it was even better than I anticipated. Sarina Bowen wove a fantastic and truly enjoyable love story for Tank and Bess, and I couldn’t have loved it more. The ending was especially amazing and made me so incredibly happy. The characters were absolutely wonderful. Tank and Bess were phenomenal in every way, and I honestly adored them. They were completely lovable and relatable, and I just loved them so much. Tank and Bess were definitely perfect for each other, and it was a pleasure to experience their journey with them. Sure Shot was a sexy, entertaining, funny, swoon-worthy, and MUST READ standalone sports romance in the Brooklyn series, and I would highly recommend it! Tank and Bess’s love story has been one of my favorite romances from Sarina Bowen so far, and I can’t wait to devour whatever she releases next!

Sure Shot. Can’t say enough about this series. I’m so sorry to see it end! Each and every character became part of my family.

5 SURE SHOT STARS!. 5 Sure Shot Stars!!! I absolutely loved this one! Tank is broody and sexy and a second chance with strong and sassy Bess is just what he needs. Their chemistry is off the charts scorching hot. Their journey will have you hooked from beginning to end, with all the feels! A fantastic addition to this series and a definite must read!

As expected, Sarina shots and scores with this winning read!. Bess Beringer is a leading sports agent in her field. She's worked hard for years and in doing so admits she's put her personal and love life on the back burner. There's nothing like a thirtieth birthday to make you reevaluate and Bess is determined to make time for love. Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz is a blast from Bess' past. They had a brief and passionate affair when Bess was a newbie on the scene, but their careers took them on different trajectories. While Bess' work life is on the up, Tank's seems to be well... tanking. Starting anew in a new city and a new team, Bess is a sight for sore eyes. He would love to pick up where they left of but is met with resistance from Bess. Whilst Tank is temptation on a stick Bess owes it to herself to find a lasting and committed relationship. She isn't the same person from all those years ago, but the problem she finds is neither is Tank. He was charming in his young but in his adulthood he's damn right dangerous.   I've followed the Bruisers since their first outing and with every book in the series my affection  and adoration for them grows. There is a wonderful sense of family and even as a reader I too feel as if I am enveloped in it. Each story is angsty, endearing and impossible to put down. As expected, Sarina shots and scores with this winning read!

Super sexy, super addictive read. I’m loving this Brooklyn series, and I’ve got to say, I had no clue where Sure Shot would take us. A second chance romance, a romance that starts up again 9 years after it first began. Sarina Bowen is the queen of hockey romance and I think that Bess and Tank’s story may just be one of my favourites. Two people, no game playing, honest moments, no holding back (I love that in a story). Ok maybe they’ve held back from discussing some parts of their past, but they’re willing to be open and honest with each other, maybe a little too much. It would appear that they might want completely different things out of this possible relationship, but can they meet in the middle? Super sexy, super addictive, and a little emotional, my heart strings did get pulled somewhat. Wonderful writing, story and characters, always great to catch up with all the previous team players (on and off the ice). I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Good Little Read. This story was good, I really loved like 85% of it so much but it did touch on a topic I'm not really a huge fan of however it didn't deter my liking for the book overall, I loved the ending it was really nicely done and a great way to wrap up the story.  The characters were amazing and the writing spot on, I thaught Tank and Bess had a real connection, sparks were flying everywhere with them so I was rooting for them throughout the story. I thought how they eventually worked through problems was good although it took a little bit to get there, by the end they were two fully developed characters who had their act together. I love Sarina Bowen and Brooklyn Bruiser series - looking forward to what is next!  In a nutshell... Story theme-wise, not 100% my cuppa tea but overall it was an enjoyable read and I would recommend.

Fantastic addition to the series. I was excited when I heard we were going to be back with The Brooklyn Bruisers and Sure Shot was everything I expected and more, it was a fantastic read with wonderful characters and a storyline that drew me in and captivated from the first page to the last line. This is Bess Beringer and Mark Tank Tankiewicz second change at love, having had a fling a few years ago it was Bess who walked away from Mark but now they find themselves coming face to face again will the attraction still be there, will the timing be right this time around or will the baggage they both have collected along the way be too much to put behind them..... I fell hook line and sinker for this couple, I loved the chemistry they shared and the banter that flowed so naturally but it was the heartfelt emotions that touched me on so many levels that turned this from a great read to a fantastic read. I loved catching up with characters from previous books and true be told I love every about Sure Shot so please one click this gem of a read.

Great addition to the series. This was a fabulous read. Sarina Bowen had me from the first to the last page hook, line and sinker. This is Bess Beringer and the latest recruit to the Brooklyn Bruisers, Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz story and is a second chance at love story that ticked the boxes for me. Tank and Bess, are two halves of a whole; having had a fling years ago, Bess left Tank and he moved on. Now they find themselves face to face again. Despite having her life mapped out, Bess is still attracted to Tank, even though they both have baggage. The friendship and banter between them was realistic; the chemistry intense and absolutely sizzles, it’s just a shame that they continually miss communicate, that got a tad frustrating at times. There pain of both Bess and Tank’s pasts really got to me, bringing me to tears. On a brighter note it was great to catch up on previous couples and see what is happening with them. Sure Shot was a well written, fast paced story with characters you cannot help but like and quickly become invested in.

Sure Shot. Sure Shot by Sarina Bowen Sure Shot is the second chance romance Bess Berringer and Mark ‘Tank’ Tankiewicz didn’t know they needed. Having just spent the last week off the grid and working on her five-year plan, Bess is stunned to see Mark at a Bruisers get-together especially given that he’s arrived from a rival team and his wife is nowhere to be seen. Bess is no longer the newbie sports agent she was nine years ago and she’s made some huge decisions with both her professional and personal lives. Mark has just arrived in Brooklyn where he simply does not want to be. His wife has asked for a divorce, his teammates don’t trust him, and he’s living in a hotel. The one thing going for him is that he’s back in contact with Bess Berringer and he’s not willing to let her push him aside. These two have a lot of issues to work through and a lot of heartache to deal with. I did feel that things sort of started up a bit too quickly at the beginning of their reconnection but having said that, I quite enjoyed the serious turns their relationship took. Cute. Another cute one! The relationship between Bess and Tuck is healthy. Their wants and fears are realistic and touching. 5/5

Nothings for sure. Divorced. Traded. That’s how Tank starts his new hockey life in New York. Meets his fling from 9 years ago! Bess. Sports agent of her own company and having a midlife crisis at 30. Tank is gun shy and Bess is sort of a muted color of grey. Tank does not reveal anything about his divorce until near the end and unfortunately as a reader I had my own ideas. Like his arch rival on the Texas team who traded him punches him and then divorces his wife as well. What better than a cheater wife who gets together with the arch rival! Nope. There is a build up in that direction but it never ignites. Would have made the story way spicier. The reason for the divorce ends up being infertility or so he thinks as the story ends Bess his new wife ~ pregnant! So that is the best part. Even nicer had there been an epilogue or baby born so we could share Tanks joy abit. It was choppy and the story needed more depth just missing something for me. But if you are a die hard fan Tank is worth the read.
