The Ladys Masquerade. A wonderful story

Not what it could have been. I felt like it needed to be longer more added to it. Characters needed to be more fleshed out more developed, making the reader care about what is happening. The Bad guy/villain needed to be introduced in some way WAY before the reveal at the end, because I found what did happen disappointing because up until that point the only other man who had been introduced was the friend of the duke from the beginning. More foreshadowing was needed because as previously stated the villain/bad guy came out of no-where with a flimsy motive for wanting her dead. And besides he could have just killed her in the bed and that would have solved all his problems. A proper motive also needed to be established along with at least 2 other possible theories and more evidence brought to light, because the Blurb made it sound like there were several more things than were actually discovered. The book ‘the Haunting of a Duke’ by Chasity Bowlin (which is no longer available on iBook I don’t think) does this sort of plot really well (despite the fact that that story features ghosts, Spirits & murder). It builds slowly and even features small snippets from the villain’s and other character’s POVs. Evidence is scattered throughout alongside character development and the growing relationship between the Main Female and Main Male leads feels natural and not overly rushed. Overall it this story had good bones and an interesting idea, but the execution wasn’t what it could have been.
