Loved. Such a good book!!!

spoilers!. I loved this book. The plot twist didn’t shock me, I figured it out at the beginning when I saw how much she liked Adam. But I still loved They Wish They Were Us, it got me out of a reading slump.

Incredible!!. Loved reading this book. Can’t wait for Jessica’s next one .. waiting with anticipation!

It's alright ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Jill Newman is a hard character to really root for as she does make a lot of things about herself. The entire "they don't know the things we had to do to get here" thing was mentioned and stretched out way too often... The culprit was predictable. This book helps pass the time, but it's nothing crazy.

Meh. I wanted to like this book more than i did, especially because my favorite author Jessica Knoll’s praise is on the front cover! i started once, didn’t get into it, then went back a month later and forced myself. The main problem was that I didn’t connect with the main character or any of them, really. The second problem was I figured out the whodunnit about halfway, 3/4 of the way through. I don’t regret reading it but wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to anyone.

Secret Societies for YA. They Wish They Were Us is a novel about a secret society at the high school level. It also is a statement about the system in which we live that is founded upon patriarchal ideals and boosting up the socio-economic status-quo. On that level, it is infuriating to read about the world of elite private schools and the students who go on to get Ivy League educations. The book reads like a Sara Sheppard novel and is a fun, interesting take on the genre of wealthy teens at a prep school who are trying to determine the truth about their murdered friend while also trying to maintain their status in the high school hierarchy and discovering the truth about who is pulling the strings. The ending was a little predictable, but that didn't make it any less fun to read!

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. This book was so good!! So many twists and turns! It was like Panic, Gossip Girl, and Pretty Little Liars all in one!!!! I can’t wait for the show!
