Guarding the Goddess:A Kindred Tales Novel (Brides of the Kindred) - Evangeline Anderson This book is a wonderful sequel to the last Kindred Tales (Kindred Klaus) novel where Kindred Asher and his mate save the planet Helios Beta and the coronation of the new Potentate. The planet is inhabited by a race of blue humanoids who are similar in anatomy but there are some “interesting” differences. They all have these lovely beings, small creatures who can only be described as an extension of their emotions and their souls. The Chewchies sound adorable, helpful and do play important characters in this story (I want one). Sylvan, head of the Kindred on the mothership, assigns a troop of Kindred warriors to protect the new Potentate ,Ellina, who is in danger of assassination. The leader of the Kindred and bodyguard of Ellina is Ty’ral, who takes his position very seriously. Ellina has been traumatized by the assassination of her parents, her ailing grandmother and the need to assume the ruling position. She is aware there are evil plots and suspicious characters within her court. Ty’ral is a whole new type of Kindred. He was genetically produced by the crazy domineering females on Yonnie 6. They were producing warriors for their specifications, mostly The best of many Kindred in one great package, luckily these “males” are rescued by the mothership and undergo major psychological therapy. Ty’ral is terrified that although he is reprogrammed he may still find a genetic predisposition to want to guard and please a woman. He decides to never take a mate for this reason. Ellina and Ty’ral find a way to heal and bring strength to each other during their time together. They must not only find a way to protect her but also discover and stop the evil group that has been slowly taking over the planet for several years. This is an exciting , very enjoyable read. It’s very original from the world building, new characters and species and page turning storyline. I highly recommend reading this awesome book (after Kindred Klaus).

Loved. The author has done it again and brought us another wonderful book. I just love Ellina but my heart broke for her. Here she was young and had the weight of her kingdom on her shoulders. The to top that someone trying to kill her and worried about something more private. No one that young should be faced with that alone. I just love Ty. Though he had this invisible wall up he was so loyal and willing to serve and protect. He would do anything to keep her safe. I just loved the chemistry between these two and things will get really hot and steamy. It was truly a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.
