The Story Could’ve Been Better. I wanted to read this book because there aren’t many books (that I’m aware of) with plus size female lead characters. The thing I hated, however, is that weight is treated like a complication to this love story rather that a physical attribute of one of the main characters.

Wonderful Romance. I loved this book so hard! The steam was hot! April was amazing! Marcus was dreamy. I loved the story. This was my first book by Olivia Dade, but it will not be my last.

Refreshingly unique and witty. Absolutely loved this book! Funny, heartfelt, and entertaining.

Did I get psychologied?. The last word in the title to this post, is not a word. I get it. I woke up in the morning wanting to read spicy fiction and instead, ended my evening blowing throw this book like a dehydrated cactus starving for sustenance. Alas that might be a horrible analogy, but I stand by it. The main characters’ growth was strong and eloquent. They were “lifted of the paper” as so many like to say, and in this case, wholeheartedly true. Aside from a well written adventure with delicious characterizations AND yes, spicy spicy love, I’ve learned that I too deserve love and quite possibly therapy. 100% ended up recommending this book to at least ten people in the same day, and now I’m recommending it to YOU.

Spoiler Alert-BRILLIANT. This book is sweet, funny, emotional and everything I wasn’t expecting! I fell into the story slowly and then all at once and I couldn’t put it down! Absolutely a book I would recommend!

Everything I wanted. I don’t think I can fully express how much I freaking loved this book. Like at all. It gives big girls out there the story they deserve with a hero that is perfectly imperfect. Olivia Dade is a queen.

April is brave and wants to be liked for who she is today regardless of her size. Marcus is shy but forced into the public eye so performs a role of confidence in public. Both have had difficulty dealing with their parents lack of acceptance. The hero, oh he feels so much and doesn’t trust easily. It took me a long time to read this book. The more I love a book, the slower I read. Immediately rereading paragraphs two or three times before moving on. I put it down and read something else a couple of times in the middle. Because I loved it so much and didn’t want that new and “in love” feeling to end. Contemporary romantic comedy. Excerpts to show Marcus and his feelings: “And if this is the last time we meet, please know it was an honor to spend the evening with you, April Whittier. AKA Unapologetic Lavinia Stan.” She’d given him a final chance, and he’d taken it. Now she had hers. She wasn’t hesitating another moment. “Let’s do a second date,” she told him. “Are you free the day after tomorrow?” That smile. F[...] that smile. It banished the shadows in the dim restaurant. Lit his eyes. Turned her buoyant and giddy, light as helium, as his hand reached for hers again and tethered her safely to the earth. “Yes,” he said, his fingers interlacing with her own. “Yes. Something new, something old. Spoiler Alert has great parts: refreshing characters who are facing a relevant and relatable issues, and hilarious pop culture allusions. Still, the novelist somehow transitions amazing moments between both characters into monotone, predictable plot lines.
