Not worth it. Disjointed writing, at times I wondered if the editor accidentally put paragraphs in the wrong order (or if I’d missed something). The storyline was decent and I finished the book, but getting there was painful with all of the strange, incomplete side stories that didn’t flesh out the characters as I think they were intended. But what was worse was how judgmental the “not judgmental” Abi was. Yes, she was kind and generous but the author had her thinking or “joking” about terrible things. [[[SPOILER]]] Like how she might not know if her wonderful friend Melanie was pregnant because was so “wide” (but they loved her for being cuddly!) and it was normal that Melanie would only marry her boyfriend if she could pawn off his 8-year old son. [[Trigger warning]] Or how she wanted Harry to know Bethany’s past and that she didn’t even know who fathered her baby, but of course Abi forgives her like a good Christian and doesn’t judge her! Even though she judges her constantly! And no word ever on the fact that Bethany doesn’t because she was drugged at 16, blacked out, and didn’t know enough about sex to realize what happened until she was 3 months pregnant. The author made sure she had this blameless background but made no efforts to not blame her thoroughly.

I read everything. I gave up on this book. Abi is a snarky, nasty, and judgmental character. The plot was boring or nonexistent. The characters are superficial and uninteresting. My only response was “who cares?” The best part is that it is easily forgotten. Glad it was free. I hate wasting money on non entertaining material for puppy pads.

Wonderful. I loved how the characters supported Bethany from her father and her aunt. That is just a minor part of the story.
