Good plot, boring writing. Loosely defined characters. I couldn’t tell a difference between who was saying what bc they all sounded exactly the same. Feels like it was written for teens, and didn’t let you infer anything and was predictable at times.

Delightful. FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT is a delightful read. Loved the story, the characters, and the humor. Cosimano is a true talent. Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book.

i want to love it... Funny at times, but the story was just okay. Boring. It took me two months to read it, books usually take a week or two depending how busy i am.

Fun Premise!. Finlay Donovan is a newly divorced mom of two, strapped for cash, and late on submitting her draft for her next novel. While meeting with her agent at a Panera, a women overhears the conversation, believing she’s a hit woman, hires Finlay to kill her husband. Honestly, the premise of FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT sold me immediately, specifically the part about Panera. I once watched someone bring a fax machine into a Panera to use. It’s a fascinating place. I wasn’t blown away by the novel. I think the balance of trying to make a sympathetic heroine who is not a murder, but involved in a murder plot, is a difficult balance. The story didn’t always feel true to me. People were too willing to cover up a crime and blame it on someone else. The plot was cohesive and logical with a satisfying conclusion. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Finlay and Julian, and I wish there would have been more scenes with them together. I really liked the characters of Vero and Finlay’s sister. I hated Nick. I enjoyed the pacing and the humor. I thought the book had a lot of fun setting like Panera, and a sod farm, and a bar called The Lush. At times the plot felt overly complicated while trying to keep this premise going. The epilogue was fantastic, and I think that hints to a sequel. If you’re like a fun, light murder mystery, then I recommend this novel. It’s a fun, fast read, and thought it didn’t blow me away, I’m glad I read it. I’m also glad I borrowed it from the library.

Absolutely loved it!. The energy of this book was fabulous! I found myself laughing and wondering what was going to happen with each turn of the page. Another plus is it takes place where I grew up in Northern Virginia!! And the author grew up down the road from where I lived in Maryland for a few years. It is always a plus to have the familiar in a story and having known locals in a story that I am reading was just awesome! Finlay is a great character and I cannot wait to start the next book! I highly, highly recommend this book!!

So much fun.. The storyline kept twisting & turning; I was never able to predict the next step. I loved the mix of underworld characters & husband snatching & custody fight & meeting deadlines & romance& detective work with who a regular girl gets mixed up. Lots of fun to read.

Nice premise terrible execution. It was not believable even in a fictional sense, the main character was clumsy and not in a loveable or even a trying sort of way. She was very unlikeable to me especially in her relationships. Her little sidekick was one-dimensional, annoying and also unbelievable. Really, there was really no depth to any of the characters introduced. Like for example she had children who were just there for her to say she had children and then she’s “fighting” to keep them but spends no time or attention to them and due to that most likely, they obviously prefer being with their dad (who is also a terrible person). It’s safe to say I will not be continuing with the other two books.

Adorably chaotic!. I’ve seen some of the reviews here complaining it wasn’t “believable” etc., but I found it to be as comically hilarious and the perspectives of her anxieties and frustration regarding her ex husband in custodial and co parenting matters equally as realistic as the plot of the hiring contracted killing was hilariously unrealistic. I adored the sardonic humor, her fierce love and protective nature towards her children and the interpersonal relationships she has with her secondary characters to be realistically portrayed

Entertaining. I was in it from the start! A bit of a fairytale, If you will, if you prefer your fairytales to contain some mystery and mafia, as I do!!
