Easy to read. Its a very easy to read and entertaining book. Good for when you have some time to kill. Giving it 3 stars because the story is a bit predictable and some things don’t really match with real life.

So sweet!. Tip: grab some pastries and put on a pot of coffee before you delve into Ali Sweet’s Mystery. There’s a lot of familiarity in Fiona Grace’s writing formula. While I can apply this review to all that I’ve read by the author, I can also say they are all well-written mysteries with surprises along the way. I’d liken it to watching a favorite movie, but with brand new twists and turns that weren’t there in the last viewing. I have my “comfort foods” and Fiona Grace is one of my “comfort writers”. While the author’s outline seems consistent within her writing, the characters, scenery, locations and industries vary greatly. The locals and professions are well researched and illustrated beautifully. Our protagonist loses or quits her job to immediately be blindsided by a breakup. Determined to follow her dreams, she relocates and opens a business or embarks on a new career. She still has to deal with her judgmental, meddling mother and successful, yet skeptical sister, as they tell her to beg for her old job/boyfriend back. They show no support or confidence. She finds solace in her new friends. Our lead is also missing her father, sometimes estranged; others he’s passed away. The new job isn’t is easy as she imagined with quite a few snags. She immediately meets a rival, as well as a possible romantic partner and an unlikely ally. But then—there’s a murder and it’s always the new gal in town, the outsider, as prime suspect. Not trusting law enforcement, our heroine decides to investigate herself. After all, not only is her freedom on the line, so is her new job, home and possible budding romance with the local hunk.

Really interesting cozy murder mystery. I really enjoyed this murder mystery. It had everything intrigue, suspense,frequent twists and turns, some romance, and even the mob. I highly recommend this book.

Predictable. If you’ve read 2 of her books, you know how this will play out. Unfortunately, it’s a rather boring dialogue. How many dead bodies can 1 person discover and be the prime suspect every time?! Then she has to also solve each of the murders proving that her first 3 possibilities fail to be the real murder and the last is always it! The family and ‘possible love interests’ leave options to expand the story past the main story line to ad interest but the author falls flat on this.

Absolute fun read. Ali was fun to get to know. Some of the characters are a cliche, but they add to the storyline.

Tasty Dreams. All of these food based mysteries are making me hungry!

Good read. Became invested in the main character and found myself staying awake reading to solve the murder before the end of the book could reveal it to me.

Relaxing fun read. The descriptive passages of this book enabled me to create a mental picture of the setting, the characters and plot. I became so into the book I did not want to put the book down. It was an easy most entertaining read with humor and mystery dealing with real life issues.

Beach Front Bakery. It was hard to put this book down. Twist and turns, it was great. Can’t wait until the next one is out. I already pre-ordered it.

Mildly Entertaining. I wasn’t expecting anything mind blowing from this book. I don’t think an editor even looked at it, there were spelling mistakes and even a sentence that just ended in the middle. It’s definitely a fast read, it started out okay but the inconsistencies and having everything spelled out was annoying. It read like a trashy romance novel that never got to the trashy bits.

Loved the suspense and characters. What a story of learning what your dream really is and making it happen. All set to the tune of solving a murder. The suspects kept changing, but she kept on looking for the killer.

Fiona Grace fix. I’m hoping for more Tuscan vineyard and Sicilian books! In the meantime, this is a lovely Fiona Grace fix. I am yet to fall in love with the main character, but intrigued to see how she settles in to her new life, career and community. I loved the colourful characters, and I really liked Fat Tony. I feel like it’s more of setting the tone book and perhaps more adventures are yet to come.

Beachfront bakery. A whodunnit with a difference. A good storyline about a small town, with unique individuals who have a murderer in their midst. Ms Sweets opens her new patisserie and is promptly embroiled in a murder, of which she is being accused of.

Drivel. I’m so sorry to have wasted money on this absolutely dreadful book.

bah. little fairy tale , simplistically written, the plot repeats in exactly the same way in each book, in all the series of books! And entire passages of repetition of previous events bulk out what is a very basic fantasy story over and over.. The principal character is also the same, different names but each a copycat of the other . I was offended by the overly casual treatment and consideration of the heroine’ furry friends, always disturbingly left to fend for themselves in unusual situations and location, given very inappropriate foods …. very very un educational for anyone who does not appreciate the huge load of responsibilities one should feel and practice towards any creature they claim to care for. As there are so many people who are not remotely aware of the level of commitment an animal requires to be kept safe and fed in a species appropriate manner, the example set out in these books is soul destroying in its total blindness to it all. The only way to excuse this is in considering these books as simple fairy tales as mentioned above. If you are looking for a mindless read, you are happy knowing the plot and all its sequences beforehand, can set aside the irritation regarding the furry ‘friends’, these series can give you a stuck in time feeling which can be reassuring in times of difficulty. However, it would be helpful if the author could take the trouble to verify the correct wording of any foreign terms she casually sprinkles in the Italian books, rather than use approximations and mix them up with Spanish at times. It is irritating to those who know the language as well as give rise to unfortunate differences in the meaning. The dog named Polpetto’ (in the Cosy mysteries series of the vet who buys a 1$ house in Sicily) was likely to be intended as ‘Polpetta’ ( a sort of mushy meatloaf type food), as ‘Polpetto’ actually means small octopus!! and Italians don’t say ‘Madre de Dios’, but ‘ Madre di Dio’…. etc etc

Not at all relaxing. Sorry but far too shouty for me for the first 10 mins, not good for a book you want to relax to sleep to! Thank god it was free won’t be listening to anymore!

Loved It. There really wasn’t a boring moment in the book at all. It was very interesting from start to finish! I’ve bought the next one already. I downloaded this as a free book. What a gem! I will definitely be buying the whole series. I really got to know the characters and was sad to see it end because there where I felt a few cliffhangers for me so when I saw there was another book I was delighted!

Good choice. A very lighthearted mystery to read. There is nothing better than snuggling up with a book on a cold winter night. This was a good choice so I will embark on trying another book in the series. Stay tuned.

Great Summer Read. An enjoyable summer read !

I dreamed it too. I picture up Willow Bay and can smell the salty air coming off the ocean. Sipping coffee while watching the waves sweeping in and out on the sandy beach. I love an author that can make me enter a book like I was in it. Thank you
