We begin at the end. I was at first thinking I had picked the wrong book. I quickly realized I had something very special. The characters became believable , even likely in the early chapters. Then They became people I have known or met. An emotional read with some tough to take realities. Thank you. 🤙🏻

Loved this book!. This was an outstanding book and I loved reading it from start to finish. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, it took a different turn. I also loved how this book wasn’t political in any way. No political overtones or biases. So refreshing!

So Worth the Time!. This book is so beautifully written and all encompassing. The story is tragic and messy and keeps you guessing at every turn and yet somehow love is at the center of it all. Love breaks through all the clouds in this story and shines through in the most unexpected and heart wrenching ways. I found it hard to put down.

Absolutely the best book I have read in a year.. Characters rich, story unbelievably well written. This is one I will reread again in the future.

We Begin at the End. This book took me a long time to read, but I really wanted to finish it because it was our book club selection. The ending was worth plowing through the rest of the book, though. It was unexpected to say the least!

Thought it would never end. A major disappointment. I really wanted to like this book. Cutesy names distracted from the story. No clear storyline. I finally gave up after 1/3 way through. Waste of time.

Begin at the End. Hmmmm. I finished this book thinking there would be at least one positive turn. Nothing. Good story, good characters, writing cadence a little jerky. It was just too too depressing.

Good story, vivid characters. I liked the characters of Duchess, Vincent and Walk. The author’s sloppiness about details, of geography particularly, detracted from the book’s effect. All in all, I’m incredulous that this book won the Gold Dagger.

One for the Ages. This previously unknown author (to me) and this amazing story just blew me away. A truly moving story and characters - especially The Outlaw Dutchess Ray Ridley- that I will long remember. I will be reading his other works for sure.
