Sweet story but a bit of a nail-biter. A Convenient Christmas Proposal by author C.J. Carmichael is book two of The Shannon Sisters series. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend you read book 1, A Cowboy's Proposal prior, for a more thorough reading experience. I have read many of this author's works and have enjoyed them all. In particular, I love the Christmas ambiance of the small Montana town of Whitefish. Mick and Kelly..... Kelly is a police officer for their hometown. She takes her job seriously and she is standardly a by-the-book officer. One night. while on duty, Kelly is following up on a call about a possible DUI. Before she even has the chance to make her presence known by flashing her lights and turning on her siren, the driver speeds up and looses control of his car and crashes. Danny, who I met in book one was killed instantly. While Danny hasn't been an upstanding citizen, Kelly is heartbroken. You see, Danny leaves behind an older brother, wife and two adorable small children. I'm going to say that for me, Billy and Mandy, were the story. It was their well-being that kept me fully engaged and nail biting at times. Mick is heartbroken about losing his brother the way he did. However, because of Danny's lifestyle and choices, Mick wasn't surprised. Though he is grieving, his first priority is taking care of Danny's family; especially his adorable niece and nephew. Unfortunately, Mick's sister-in-law has her own issues of drug abuse and her first priority is not her children. I won't go into details as there is a bit of suspense to the story and I wouldn't want to ruin that aspect for you. To sum this book up, A Convenient Christmas Proposal is emotional and sad at times. But there is hope and healing. Mick and Kelly get off to a slow start and that is just how it should have been given the circumstances. I enjoyed catching up with characters from book one and there is even a pleasant surprise for the Shannon sisters that I didn't see coming. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I think that one will be the most emotional of the three. This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it.

Caring for Children. It was sad that Sharon had no care for her children, They were very lucky to have their Uncle and Kelly to protect them and love them .

Reality meets Hallmark. The story seemed to be slow to develop over the first two thirds, but then rushed to the conclusion in the last third. Some of it was a little predictable and for a holiday story at times it was a little too much reality but then it took a sharp hook into HEA-land, and the ending was great, so I gave it 4*s.

Christmas through the eyes of a child. Do not let the title fool you, I will say I thought I had it all figured out and this book was going to be so predictable, I was quite wrong. This book was a really cute story yes a tough subject to discuss when it involves children but so worth the read. I loved that Mick was willing to take up for his younger brother and loves his niece and nephew like his own children. I loved Kelly and her big heart and even though she skeptical she's is willing to give people a chance to prove her wrong or right why still doing the right thing. Over all this was a really good story I love reading or seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child it really does give you a different perspective. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Definitely recommend. I adored this book so much I sat and read it all the way through. The characters were perfect, Mick a loving and devoted uncle, two kids who have suffered great tragedy and lived a difficult life and Kelly a cop who wears her heart on her sleeve and has so much love to offer. The story has a bit of intense drama and suspense leaving you rapidly going through the pages to see if everything turns out okay yet also is loaded with the feel good of the Christmas season. Would definitely recommend this book.

Really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed this story, it was so heartbreaking with loss & guilt & neglect but turned out so sweet. The loss of a father, husband & brother at Christmas is devastating & the neglected children left behind is heartbreaking but with a loving uncle & an empathetic police officer life could change. Kelly & Mick are a slow quiet burn & the love they have for his niece & nephew draw them close. We’re also treated to the revelation of a secret that brings happiness to the Shannon sisters. Definitely a wonderful addition to the series. Recommend to read. Thank you to Tule publishing & author C.J.Carmichael for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.
