The Wife by Shalini Boland Book Summary
Zoe fainted on her wedding day, and she never knew why. She’s always felt sure something bad happened. Ten years later, she’s going to find out what…
It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Zoe was sitting in her hotel room, in her perfect white dress, looking forward to the moment when she would make kind, handsome Toby her husband.
Then, there was a blank.
They said she must have fainted, overcome with emotion. But nothing felt quite right afterwards. Did something happen in that missing time?
Now, Toby and Zoe have two beautiful children and a perfect life. They’re planning their ten-year anniversary party for their family and friends. The invitations have been sent, the food ordered. They’re going back to the grand hotel where they got married.
But as the anniversary gets closer, it becomes clear not everyone is looking forward to celebrating. Zoe catches Toby lying about where he’s been. One of her best friends seems to be ignoring her. And someone is spreading stories that might stop the party from happening at all.
Zoe is increasingly sure that she doesn’t have the full story. But does she want to know the truth, if it will destroy everything?
From the million-copy bestselling author, this totally gripping psychological thriller will have you hooked from the first page to the last jaw-dropping twist. Perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl and The Wife Between Us.

Intense twisty thriller! 5 stars!Thank you to @bookouture, @netgalley, and @shaboland for the early gifted copy of The Wife—it is out today, September 9th! Happy pub day! Zoe faints on her wedding day, and has no recollection of what happened. Ten years later, she and her husband are celebrating their anniversary. But since their wedding day, something has never seemed quite right, and Zoe can’t put her finger on what... Every book I have read by Shalini Boland I have absolutely loved, so I was super excited to be sent this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. The Wife was a perfect domestic suspense thriller, fast paced and full of twists and turns. Many chapters ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I often felt compelled to read just one more (okay, three). I ended up finishing this book in just a couple of days—and no spoilers, but the epilogue opens up some questions! If you’re a fan of domestic suspense, pick up this one today!.Score: 5/5
5 star thrillerAnother great edge of your seat thriller from Shalini Boland! She never disappoints. In her latest twisty tale we follow Zoe, past and present, as she struggles to unravel the cause of the overwhelming sense of unease she feels around every corner. So many unanswered questions fill her mind when she thinks about her sister’s whereabouts and the puzzling events of her own wedding day. Why did she faint? Is her husband the man of her dreams, or is he hiding dark secrets? This is a definite page turner with twists and turns throughout the story. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC..Score: 5/5

Loved!!!!!I will say this to the moon and back that boy this Shalini Boland woman sure knows how to write a book!!!!!! I have read many of her books and loved them all. In fact I’m determined to read all books. She is one of my favorite authors and I pray that she continues to write more and more and more!!!!!! This book was about a woman who’s past and present collides in many ways. Zoe faints on her wedding day ten years earlier and doesn’t remember a thing. Now with her anniversary party coming up she has this feeling that her fainting spell so long ago was something more. Is Zoe right? Why does she keep getting hang up calls? Why does everyone around her seem to be acting suspicious? Did she do something wrong? You find all your questions and more out by the end of the book. I want to start off by saying that I can’t say enough good things about this author. I love the way she writes and how she really brings the book alive. I feel like I watching an award winning movie when I’m reading her books. I’m telling you her books are just that good. I loved the way that this book came together. You go from past to present and really feel like you are one with the story. I also loved all the characters. The characters all had their flaws but they flowed well with each other. They each had their place in the story and it worked so well. I really loved that. Let’s talk about the plot. Now that was a doozy. Who doesn’t love a story where where your past affects the present. Also, that ending, wow!!!!! Shalini is the queen of shock. I really thought I knew where the end was taking me but I was dead wrong. I just love endings with a twist. They bring such joy to me as it’s hard to surprise me anymore. Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.Score: 5/5

Shalini Boland is the queen of a twist and will have you in shock, when all is revealed in its entirety. Shalini Boland definitely knows what her readers love and she delivers on this each and every time, which makes her one the best and most exciting authors in the psychological thriller genre. Her flawless writing and style just make her stories come to life and are interactive as she makes the reader feel involved as it all unfolds. I fully blame her for this for being so fantastic, so the record will be broken for a long time to come! Brilliant read!Wow! Another brilliant book by Shalini Boland. If you love psychological thrillers, then ‘The Wife’ has to be on your read list. I love how the mystery unfolded and took me on a memorable journey. Zoe is so ordinary and her life is normal in every way until she starts seeing someone from her past. Shalini skilfully ties this in with the behaviour of everyone around Zoe. I felt the tension and anxiety that was building up within her as the truth closed in. This book was particularly unsettling and had me biting my nails as I raced through it, desperate to know what had been going on. I enjoyed how Zoe’s old school friend, Cassie, came into play, twisting things even further. Zoe’s character was relatable and well written. I enjoyed getting to know her as I read. She could have been a friend or acquaintance, and the hair salon and home settings sealed the authenticity. The characters around her were well fleshed out. ‘The Wife’ is a fantastically fast and immersive read and boy does it pack a big fat punch at the end. Full of surprises and shocks, I can honestly say, I thought it was fabulous!.Score: 5/5
