Good mystery. I don’t read a lot of cozy mysteries because of the humor, romance and often silliness surrounding a murder mystery. This book has none of the above but it also isn’t riddled with curse words or graphic details. A happy medium for me. I’ll definitely read more by this author. The plot kept me interested, despite the phrases like “She was fine. Until she wasn’t.” “Until it wasn’t”. Clearly. That’s why I’m reading the book to find out! Those superfluous interjections are not only redundant, they interrupt the flow for the reader. I was kinda ticked that the author mentioned a secret he was keeping from others, alluding to it several times, without informing the reader. It was a let down once it was revealed. Also, the author, or autocorrect, mixed up “venal” with “venial”. The former meaning: corrupt and bribery. The latter involving sin meaning: not mortal, slight and pardonable. Great read for an Apple Books freebie. Will purchase more in series. Great detail and developed characters, albeit it wasn’t that hard to figure out the “whodunnit” with the obvious clues from the get-go. That being said, were a few surprises I didn’t see coming. The Penitent Priest. This was a story I could not put down, literally. Very well written with regard to the Catholic Church. I was holding my breath through the entire story to see what was coming next. A very good read and I am an avid reader.

I love it!. Such a great read! The story line and the characters are captivating. The twists and turns held my attention and I definitely could see this as a mini series.

The Penitent Priest. This is such an interesting story I couldn’t put it down and am looking forward to reading more about Father Tom. It’s a well written book about mystery, love, forgiveness and redemption. The characters are very believable and left me wondering what their stories are.

Remarkable storyline. I came across this book purely by accident, but I must be admit I was drawn in by the first few pages. This author has a way of making these characters seem relatable to your friends and family. The emotions they portray and real and believable. The second book in the series, The Framed Father, was even better than the first if that is even possible. I’m hoping that there will be many more books in this series, or at least by this upcoming author. Few books have captured my attention like this has. Thank you for the wonderful story.

Church Memories. Being raised as a Catholic, this book brought back many forgotten memories and more understanding of the priesthood. A well written mystery, but the thought of Father Tom brought much more interest than the story itself.

Great title.. Excellent book to read. Not vulgar or X-rated. Keeps one interested from first page to last.
