Affecting. This book kind of sneaks up on you. I laughed multiple times, cried multiple times. Could be hormonal imbalance, but I think it was well executed emotional beats within the writing. 😉👍 My main critique is the ensemble is very large, and it feels like everything but the queer sink was thrown into this concise little book. But I can also sympathize with the impulse. Because of that though, the main romance doesn’t have as many grounded scenes as I would like. (There is a lot of rattling off lists of anecdotal things about Jane, but we’re rarely given a scene of her and August connecting while discussing memories.) But, I really like the poetic threads being woven throughout, the end was especially well done. 💕 Overall would recommend.

Amazingly Crafted Story. I honestly have no words for this book. The author created an amazing romance that was in depth and beautiful. It was raw and real. I loved this book and highly recommend it. 10/10

Queer magic. I’ve been waiting and waiting for Casey Mcquinston’s next novel and it did not disappoint. August and Jane’s journey is amazing but what really did it for me was the found family. I would sleep on the puke-stained rug to hang with Myla, Niko, Wes, and Isaiah!!! Impatiently waiting for Casey’s next book :))))

Wow, amazing. This is one of, if not the, greatest books I’ve ever read. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and I couldn’t put it down once I started it.

Lost in my late 20s. Exactly what I needed. Definitely YA vibes, but also not at all. Just like being in your mid 20s— you’re an adult, but in the big picture of life, you’re so very young. So, great YA content and feelings explored, but also that little bit of spice and topics/feelings that will (as far as I’ve experienced at this point of life) will last a lifetime. Thoughts for those who came out at a young age, and those of us who still haven’t come out. Grief, found family, love of all kinds, desire, fears, shoutouts to lgbtq history, home, what it’s actually like to live in NYC coming from a newbie, finding the confidence to do the things that matter to you, accepting the parts of you that you’ve always denied, and so much more.

It was an extremely slow burn. I did really love the characters and the story but I would’ve love to see a little bit more intimacy.

Best book of 2021. I finished this book in a single day and couldn’t put it down. Simply amazing.

A rollercoaster of emotions that led to tears of joy in the end. This was honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read. I had a rollercoaster of emotions. I laughed, cried, screamed, and smile. There wasn’t a moment where I didn’t enjoy reading the story. Casey has a way of making their stories amazing and I really love that. They also make them really diverse which is just incredible. I’m so happy I had the chance to read it. Definitely looking forward to reading more of their books in the future.

Best thing I’ve ever read. Easily has become a new favorite. I finished this book in about two hours and it made me feel so many things. I love love love this book!!

Great characters and sweet romance. Can I be August? Hot, strong, and sweet girlfriend and amazing friends that have her back ALWAYS and make her laugh while exploring New York . She’s living the life I dream about. I really enjoyed this book. I love the mysteries etched into the romance. I loved the characters (except August’s mom). It was the PERFECT found family which was my favorite part of the book. I loved how calm and relaxing this was to read and I even cried a little. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the beginning was a little slow but my 1/3 - 1/2 way through I always wanted to be reading to see what happened.

Took me a while to get started but worth it. I bounced off the first couple of chapters two or three times before I finally got far enough to get hooked. But I liked her other books and one of the characters in another of my favorite books loved this one, so I tried again. Definitely worth it and by the end, I was reading in small doses to postpone getting to the end. The rare novel of this genre where I really didn’t know how it was going to resolve. I would actually be interested in reading a version that went the other way. Highly recommended!

Overrated.. An enjoyable read with cool side characters but it fell a bit flat.... I don't regret reading it but there are lots of better books.

I loved it. Might not be for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It brought me joy and grief and sorrow and hope and I loved it.

Wow. There were so many unexpected parts, especially at the end. The entire book was great but the last 50 pages were absolutely incredible.
