Captivating. This story will grab onto you from the first page and not let go until the last! Now, onto book 2 of the series…

Pedantic and boring. Absolutely no regard for the most rudimentary police procedures. And the story line has no tension, completely unbelievable characters.

It was pretty good. I usually am not keen on mysteries but this was really good. I always like a happy ending with all the loose ends all tied up.

Surprisingly fresh and enjoyable book.. I was surprised by this book. I hadn’t expected to like it. I was surprised to find that it was an excellently written book. Very interesting and original in some of the ideas the author used in telling her story.

Little Girl Lost. Cambria a small town with a long memory when it comes to Gigi a detective who left, her job and marriage. Her stepdad Harvey came to this isolated place she is hiding in, only he knew where she was at. Her brother in law been murdered and her seven year old neice kidnapped. The dream she just had, so it was true. A twisted plot, a dysfunctional family, lies, afffairs, old loves, this has it all. She is frustrated when trying to interview people, her temper gets in the way. The PI her brother in law had hired, he now has been murdered. The days are passing and no clues,or does the dog, that hides objects in his bed have the missing piece. Good flowing plot, the characters are something else and there is a whole family of their long memories of not forgiving Gigi.

Child’s play. I’m really not sure how this book has so many good reviews and ratings. It was terrible.

A new GiGi. The author is American and has published more than 40 books (mystery, thriller, romantic suspense, supernatural suspense, and poetry). Shamus Award finalist, eFestival of Words winner, neither for this book, which is the first of a new series about a prickly early forties, female cop with issues. In brief The protagonist, Georgiana or GiGi for short, quit her detective job and has been living with her dog in an airstream trailer in the boonies for two years. She is enticed back into action by her former boss, the local police chief, who also happens to be her stepfather, to search for a missing 7 year old girl (her niece as it happens) and find the dude who killed the little girl’s Dad, who happens to be protagonist gal’s brother-in-law. Our hero is rude, impatient, occasionally violent, and has scant regard for doing things by the book, which is why no local cop will partner with her. Not that she cares about that. Suffice it to say, G navigates seemingly endless melodrama and eventually solves the relatively run-of-the-mill mystery with the help of a cat who thinks he’s a bowerbird (or would if they had bowerbirds in North America). Writing Competent prose and editing, numerous plot holes, and an absolute shedload of characters for a text that stretches only slightly more than 200 pages. I liked the cat best. Bottom line Not the worst thing I’ve read, but I’m no more inclined to pursue the further adventures of GiGi Germaine than I am o follow GiGi Hadid.

Unrealistic and cheesy. I found this book very simple and unrealistic. Even if you want a light read, some of the chapters are just silly. The quality of writing is mediocre at best.I won’t be reading any more of her work.
