Good book. I enjoyed this book, it was fast paced and the action held my attention. As usual Jenna gets on my nerves. She’s so dang bossy and thinks she’s the best. I knew who the killer was in the beginning. It’s like they have tunnel vision and never consider other suspects. Not to spoil it but how did the killer hold a job like that with a prior record?

Can’t stop myself. From starting the next book the second I finish one. This has been the most addictive series I’ve read since finding Eve Dallas & Roark series. Thank you!

Great book. This was a great read, grim in some places but it moved smoothly. DK Hood has become one of my favorite authors and I was disappointed when the story ended. I’ve read all of the books in the series and have to admit it felt rushed at the end, but she keeps her characters interesting. Her storyline is always interesting, I’m looking forward to her next book. I’d recommend this author to anyone who enjoys personal storylines interwoven with compelling criminal cases.

Love it!. Each of these books are a great read. I really like these characters. This entry brought a storyline that began in the first book to a satisfying close. I am now hopeful that a new storyline will catch fire and keep us going for 10 more books.

Top Notch Series!. I have loved every book in this series and only wish there were more! Fast paced action, unending excitement, believable characters, witty dialogue,nail biting drama and everything you want in a high crime thriller! Even the dogs are smarter than your average K-9’s!

Promises in the Dark. Only on pg. 51, my 10th book in this series which is great. But I have to say, ”never give chocolate to a dog (or cat, either). It can be deadly to them even in small amounts, can damage their kidneys.” Maybe in future books this will be corrected but everybody should know about this. P.S. I will rate this book after I have finished it, so far the previous books have gotten 4-5 stars from me. (Gave 3 now to be able to submit comment). Now I am finished, gave 5 stars, well deserved. A thrilling crime thriller. Bless me father for I have sinned…Before reading Promises in the Dark, I have to confess that I have not read a book by D.K. Hood before! Why I haven’t, I can’t answer, why now with book 10, well I have read so many positive things about this series since starting my blog last year, I just had to see for myself what I had been missing out on! Oh boy, have I been missing out! Promises in the Dark is a thrilling read from start to finish. D.K. Hood pulled me into town of Black Rock Falls and into the lives of each of the characters, experiencing the story through their eyes. It is full of action and suspense and although I went in blind, I had no trouble following along. Starting with book 10, I figured that I may have had trouble connecting with Kane and Alton, as I didn’t know anything about them, but this was not the case at all. The connection was instantaneous and I felt like I was catching up with old friends that I hadn’t seen for years. It was comfortable, which is a tribute to how they have been written. Promises In The Dark is a cracking read and one I throughly enjoyed. I do have a lot to catch up on and I hope to be able to go back and start from the beginning at some point, but until then, I am so glad to have been given the opportunity to read this instalment. It was an absolute pleasure to read and review Promises In The Dark which I highly recommend.
