Colony One by Tarah Benner Book Summary

Colony One is prepared for anything — except the saboteur who's already on board.

For Jonah Wyatt, the Space Force is his last shot at a military career. After years leading an elite task force, he was discharged from the army and stuck working one menial job after another. Now this disgraced combat specialist is headed to space. He's tasked with training his own unit aboard Elderon: colony one. Nobody bothered to tell him it would be a squad of white-hat hackers and intel eggheads who are definitely not Space Force material.

One recruit is Maggie Jones — an undercover reporter who was brought on board as a member of the press corps. Her job is to create fluffy corporate propaganda that paints the colony as a futuristic utopia, but Maggie can't follow the rules once she gets wind of a story.

When Maggie gets a tip from an unknown source, she realizes Elderon is not at all what it seems. As she gets closer to unraveling the conspiracy, Sergeant Wyatt begins to suspect that there's a spy on board. The saboteur has been with them all along, and he's been building an army of his own.

The Elderon Chronicles is now a complete series!

1. Colony One
2. Colony War

Scifi tome of space exploration and colonization. This was an interesting tome regarding a low space colony off earth but not deep space just a 5 hour flight to earth to and from. Humans take the same issues to the colony as are found on Earth therefore there are the same problems. I was more interested in the authors information of the innovations in AI currently and the potential problems with the Alexa like devices being reprogrammed to feed back overheard information with reprogramming. I have one but never have used it because I did not find it useful in my life.

Colony one. Suspenseful sci fi with inter3sting plot and characters

It’s Good. Wish There Was More Detail

222 to end. I’m on page 222 and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought “yes!” to a knowing turn of phrase. “Well said” with that extra snap of a clean perspective. Writing like a journalist thinks - fast, to the point; a hard cynicism saved by a soft belly scratch at the truth of...us ... and we’re still on Earth! This is going to be a fun ride. 💺 And it was... until the story became familiar and the crisis borrowed. Winding up to make a break to the next book is forced - and the start of the new book is more of the same forced action. Still... with so many books - I expect the writing and character humor to reemerge and make the “to be continued” worthwhile. Five steps down to hopeful four.

Different story line for a science fiction book. The story line is a different one from the standard science fiction novel that is based in space from the beginning This one starts on earth and ends on a space station Do not know if the story line is different enough to buy the next book follow the main characters

Colony one. This book is very interesting as Natile Barnes takes on different roles

Cliffhanger. This was an excellent book until it ended on a cliffhanger. It would have received a 5 star review. Even the afterword was good. Informative without being boring.

Good story. Enjoying the show

Colony one. This is the best story I have read in a long time. I usually during my breathing treatments am and pm. It was so interesting that I had to continue reading during the day. It was really a cliff hanger.

Colony One. Interesting!

Action packed sifi thriller. This book got me back into reading with its nonstop questions and total immersion. There were some pacing issues for me and it was a little hard to picture some of the components of the novel in my head, but overall the new world that was created with this book is totally believable and exciting!

decent read. good book for someone in the mood for an easy read. pretty straightforward storyline, i wasn’t amazed with the writing. descriptions felt elementary and obvious/predictable; i prefer stories that require a little more inference. also felt like more could have happened in the book. was kind of slow paced and the climax was a slight yawn for 300+ pages. i also prefer long and more complicated storylines especially for a space opera.

Beautifully descriptive. Kept me reading!

What?. The book is arbitrarily whacked off and you’re told to pay $3.99 to finish it. I refuse to pay again for a book. If I’d finished the first in a series I would but not when the first book I paid for was not finished.

Great Book!. It grabbed my attention from the beginning and instantly took me on an adventure. Definitely would recommend this to anyone!

Disappointing. I enjoyed this book, until I came to the end. Cliffhanger!!! I know this book is free and a precursor to other books with a price, but it’s unforgivable. There is no cut off point for the book to end. I detest authors that do this. If there had been some sort of ending, I probably would have bought further books in the series. As it is, I will not. I don’t trust that this will not happen in the next tome. So, farewell colony, your creator didn’t write well enough to get me in that far. A pity!

Want to read the rest but don’t have money. Amazing book

Not a stand alone novel. Disappointed.

Maggie. Maggies flawed but smart character was a page turner

Great story. Terminator has nothing on this!

Interesting book. Interesting book, but it’s not a standalone book. It’s part of a series that are all tied together. Still worth the read!
