Pack up the moon. One of the best books I have ever read.

Heart Wrenching and Beautiful Love Story. Pack up the Moon by Kristan Higgins is probably the most beautiful love story I’ve ever read. The story is beautifully written and is also heart-wrenching, heartwarming, and even hilarious in places. Reading this book, I’ve used up almost all my emotions, and after the end, I’m exhausted, content, and uplifted. Josh and Lauren were happily married for only a year when her diagnosis of a terminal illness drastically changes their life, but not their love for each other. After Lauren passes away, her best friend Sarah gives Josh a letter from Lauren every month for a year to help him move forward in his life. These letters give Josh a task, outside of his comfort zone, to help him move on. This book is all about the love shared by Josh and Lauren, although we know from the start that Lauren has passed, the window into their love story is so overwhelming, intense, and beautiful, this story will just rip out your heart, and twist it until you have nothing left. This intense story is littered with Ms. Higgins’s special brand of humor, lightening up the intensity and giving the book a balance that few writers can achieve. I read through this book, with a box of tissues nearby, without stopping as the story gripped me and kept me involved until the very end. This is a story about grief, and moving on, and told in such a way that you feel for each character and go through the pain, and healing with them. It was a window into how this lovely couple dealt with the news of a terminal illness, and how they learned to give each other the strength to deal with their new life, and the life after the death of one half of this loving couple. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great love story.

Her best book yet!. And I've read every one, sometimes twice. This was big and beautiful. I cried, and I smiled. What a wonderful book, about big things. Small things, too. No doubt I will read this again.

Good. Really slow at the beginning, but worth sticking with it.

A change of pace.... ...from Ms. Higgins’ serial romances, which I have enjoyed; this book was bittersweet, poignant, and beautifully written from beginning to end.

Absolutely breathtaking. I’m a widower myself. Reading this made me feel like there’s hope. Like there’s light at the end of the tunnel. This was sensational!

Pack Up The Moon. I started reading this author when she was writing funny, happy romances and loved every one of them. I thought then how talented she was, what a great sense of humor, how she knew just when to tug on your heart strings. Then her writing changed to more serious matters and I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. I am already a serious minded person and even pessimistic in some ways. So after reading the synopsis of this story, I thought no, not something I should read. But then I did. Get yourself a large box of tissues and read this remarkable love story written by someone who must lead a life filled with so much love she imagines this scenario easily. Or she knows someone who has. These characters are unforgettable as well as the story. But please dear author , next book more of your signature humor. It’s been a horrible year in so many ways.

Not up to her best. This is a remake of another book written by and Irish author. I have really liked all her other books but don’t get this one. Sorry.

Beautiful love story. I could not put this down. What a beautiful testament to love without end.

Simply The Best. This was the best book Kristan Higgins has ever written, in my opinion. It was the best I’ve read in a very long time. Josh and Lauren’s story will make you cry, laugh and cry some more. This fictional book will touch all who read it because it deals with something we all go through—losing a loved one. It’s heartbreaking to read how Lauren’s loved ones deal with her death but also uplifting to read how they all carry on and honor her life. If you only read One book this year—make it This One.

Life affirming!. I look forward to Kirstan’s new book each year! This one did not disappoint. Strong female characters in multi-generational families. They volunteer! They all have a pet dog! This book is particularly heart wrenching but also inspiring. I loved it!

Tough subject, well handled. I was nervous that the story might become too maudlin, but every time my throat tightened and my eyes became moist Josh would make one of his comments and I found myself smiling again. Kristin did such a great job!
