And Then She Vanished by Nick Jones Book Summary

He only looked away for a second.
Still haunted by the disappearance of his little sister, Amy, over twenty years ago, Joseph Bridgeman’s life has fallen apart. When a friend talks him into seeing hypnotherapist Alexia Finch to help with his insomnia, Joseph accidentally discovers he can time travel. His first trip only takes him back a few minutes, but his new-found ability gives him something he hasn’t felt for the longest time: hope.
Joseph sets out to travel back to the night Amy went missing and save her. But after several failed attempts, he discovers the farther back he travels, the less time he gets to stay there. And the clock is ticking.
With the help of Alexia, Joseph embarks on a desperate race against the past to save his sister. Can he master his new skill and solve the mystery of Amy’s disappearance before it’s too late?
Previously released as The Unexpected Gift of Joseph Bridgeman, this updated version includes extra chapters, new plotlines, and even deeper character development. It makes way for an expanded vision of the Joseph Bridgeman Series, with the first four books released in 2021 and 2022.

And then she vanished. Well crafted and full of suspense. I really enjoyed reading it and recommend it highly

Time is relevant.... For me, time is man made to measure moments in life. But “And Then She Vanished” was so well written I was able to suspend disbelief and emerge myself completely in page after page. I thoroughly enjoyed this book with all its implications of horror, thrill, love, longing and sadness.

A waste of time, pun intended. Puerile.

Tittle is teasingly good. A good read with parts totally confusing and a hard to connect the dots.

And then She Vanished. It was well-written for me to give it three stars. I’m glad the woman shrink didn’t vanish - it left a sense of possibility. It is only possible to time travel in the usual direction - into the future.Travel by relativity slows time down- resulting in a return trip into the future. Any travel into the past results in paradox. The universe has no means to correct this paradox. The correction postulated by this book is energy impossible. There is no reason to think that this time travel religion, including raising the dead, is more accurate than any other religion.

SciFi/fantasy. Won’t say much about this one because anything I say will divulge the storyline. Just read for yourself if interested.

Enjoyable Read. Let me start by thanking Nick Jones and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to read “And Then She Vanished” in exchange for my honest review. I love time travel novels, and this one has much to love with a unique idea about how time travel works. Happening by accident at first and then becoming purposeful as the main character works with friends to figure it out, the story’s explanations about how the main character travels through time feel “real” and keep this from being a mystical or magical fantasy book. The book has a bit of a slow start as Mr. Jones builds the characters and their backgrounds into the story telling. His characters are like-able and quirky, though it took me a while to come to like the main character, Joseph, who struck me as morose at the beginning. Finding out why he is so deeply depressed is integral to the story. Without revealing too much, as the book progresses we meet other interesting characters who become involved in the quest to save his younger sister, Amy. The characters are relatable and the ‘90s references and some really fun scenes made me enjoy them tremendously. I would like to learn more about each character. Finishing with some surprising twists and turns, the book ends on an “up” note and left me wanting more. I was ready to follow those characters forward. Can you say sequel?

One of the best. Good read! I’m excited to read the next book!

The best substantial time travel novel. The best substantial time travel novel I have read since “Time and Again” Book 1 in a series book 2 is a certain purchase. No attempt to resolve all the paradoxes but a clean resolution.

Excellent read, on the edge of my seat!. As above

The Cost of Connection. For the first time in years, I was able to connect deeply with a character in a story. I found myself naturally drawn into Joe’s world from the early pages of the Prologue, and watched his emotionally charged journey unfold into a comforting Epilogue. I cheered for Joe, smiled when our theories on time travel matched, and even cried with him during his most vulnerable moments. That was the cost of connecting with this protagonist- true emotion and tears. I’m looking forward to diving into the rest of the series. Brilliant work, Nick Jones!

And then she vanished. While I was thrilled to be given an advanced copy of And Then She Vanished by Nick Jones and Blackstone Publishing, I wasn’t sure how excited I was about reading a book on time travel! Well! From the very first page I was totally sucked into the amazing world of Joseph Bridgeman! I was in his world from beginning to end, feeling what he was feeling, seeing what he was seeing, hoping against hope for the impossible. And Nick Jones absolutely delivers!! I’m now a total time travel believer. This book made me so want to believe it’s all possible! That anything is possible! I wanted to cry when I reached the end because I hated having to leave that world. I can’t wait for the next book!! Guess I might have to reread this one ... again!

Time travel epic without the typical gunf. Thank you to The author Nick Jones and Blackstone Publishing for my copy of 'And Then She Vanished'. The book is fantastic, a real page turner. The detail and description paints a distinctive picture of each setting and character, and the chapters are not too long which I love. Throughout the chapters it plots in memories and earlier parts of Joseph's life to really fill in the gaps and build the story. The main character has a lot of pain and turmoil but finds a fantastic gift that he learns to control to try and undo a tragedy in his family 'time travel at its finest'. I've started listening to the Beatles because of this book and want to visit Vinnys Vinyls. We could all do with a friend like Vinny. If you want a book that gives you emotions of all sorts and gets you hooked, this would be a top choice.

Review. Excellent, l really nice change from the norm.

And Then She Vanished. I received my advanced copy of And Then from the publisher thank you. Having now read the book I can say that it was very compelling I could not put it down, the characters were well written and easy to follow the author painted colourful pictures in my mind were so vivid, I could have been there The book is well written I will be recommending this book and the author Nick Jones to my friends and family “excellent book “ David Grimes.

A great book, edge of the seat action, keeps you guessing. Thank you to Nick Jones and Blackstone Publishing for the ability to read this novel in exchange for my honest review. I love time travel books and this one is exceptional, a page turning, edge of your seat story. Stumbling onto the ability to travel Joe enhances his skills to go back and rescue his sister, normally unbelievable but there is something about this story that makes you feel it could really happen. A highly recommended read and best of all there are more books to come!

And then she vanished. Thank you to Nick Jones and Blackstone Publishing for the ability to read this novel in exchange for my honest review. A book that both excites and delights, carries nostalgia, (for an old Beatles fan like me anyway) grips and endlessly fascinates. The main protagonist Joseph Bridgeman is in many words (dare I say) an ordinary Joe... until the age of 14 when powerful, unforeseen and tragic events conspire to change completely and forever. Without revealing the plot what transpires thereafter is a rollercoaster malestrom of a life that undergoes that undergoes a bewildering series of twists and turns that culminates in a climax that satisfies this reader whilst tugging at the heartstrings. I sincerely hope that there will be a follow up to this story. There are entwined plot lines that would easily and happily blossom into a second book or even a series... I for one would welcome them. For all the tumultuous events that occur in the pages of this book, still it carries an undeniable warmth, honesty and homely charm. A wonderful blend of the ordinary and the absolutely extraordinary, artfully and skilfully woven together. The combination of all these elements make for an enormously enjoyable read. For me the only disappointment is that it had to end.

A time travel treat!. I was kindly given a pre release copy of this book by the author and publishers in return for a review, so thank you very much to them!. I was so pleased they gave it to me, I honestly loved the book. I found Nick Jones to be a very gifted storyteller. His writing is very much in the character of his protagonist. I felt that I really understood Joseph Bridgeton by the time I got a little way in. The story involves time travel, which is a subject I am usually attracted by, a quest, guilt (in spades!) and some side dishes of friendships and a potential relationship. It’s the tale of a man who won’t quit. If you enjoy time travelly books, I heartily recommend his one! I really hope Nick Jones has some more up his sleeve.

Excellent. I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I read it in two sittings, as I did not want to put it down, but I had to sleep! It is really well written and believable. Joe loses his sister at a Fair, his life is understandably dominated by this. His Dad later commits suicide, his Mum is in a home with dementia and he is about to lose the family home to pay for his Mum’s care, when his friend gets him to see Alexia, who is a Hypnotherapist, this triggers his time travel. Joe had developed psychometry soon after Amy disappeared (In his words “ Objects talk to me. I sense things when I touch them, and sometimes see things as well.”) This helps focus his travelling as he quickly realised he could go back and find what happened to Amy and bring her home, however it isn’t easy. He enlists help from friends including Alexia (who he feels is becoming more than a friend) and his journeys begin. Read it to find out how Joe gets on, and then right at the end it is left open for more books.... I cannot wait.

Intriguing time travel. Loved this book so much. Engrossing, intriguing and with time travel 'rules' that are not too super complicated to follow. Great story with enough resolution at the end to satisfy but a few 'hooks' to keep you wondering how long til number 2! Thank you to Nick Jones and Blackstone Publishing for the ability to read this novel in exchange for my honest review.

A hugely entertaining read.. Thanks to the author and the publishers for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. ‘And Then She Vanished’ is a tremendously entertaining book, and the first in a potentially outstanding time travel series - I see book two is due mid year. Nick Jones writes with a typical quintessential hallmark British style, balancing drama with wit. Here we have the thirty-something tortured male narrator dealing with his life and a tragedy from his youth, only to discover he has an extraordinary gift that sets him off on an adventure through time back into his own past. The writing, the structure of the story and depth of character made me think the author was an already established writer teasing the waters of a different genre under a pseudonym, but was surprised to discover Nick Jones is a new talent!   This isn’t a book about traveling to historical events from the past, or jumping into some unknown future, instead there’s a personal tale here, a mystery that needs to be resolved from the narrator’s past, and an ending that leaves the reader wanting more. The people are real and painted with such vivid strokes that for the duration of the read you are in the company of people you actually like and care for.   I absolutely loved this book, if the rest of the series is as good as this we are in for an incredible journey. Thank you Nick Jones for creating Joseph Bridgeman, well done.

Exciting. Amazing book, loved it! Could not put it down!
