It’s Better That Way. Excellent story about life and family.

OK. Slow but now and again it draws you back in to the heart of the story and you smile.

Another good book from Debbie Macomber. This book took a good look at something so many of us have faced, infidelity & divorce along with the pain that affects the entire family. It isn’t just a marriage breaking apart, it’s a family being broken. Hurt, betrayal, harsh words, lashing out, things said & done that can take many years to repair. And, for some, that never happens at all. It was thoughtfully written, but I thought the ending was a bit simplistic. Still, I pretty much always appreciate Mrs. Macomber’s books & rarely pass on purchasing them.

Heartwarming. I really enjoyed this book.

A heartfelt read. I love how this book starts out with a prologue from Julia’s past explaining her own feelings and her family’s dynamics surrounding her divorce. The book then starts with the first chapter 6 years later. This creates a hopeful and more upbeat story of how a late in life divorce can bring heartache , but can also bring a new life full of love and second chances. I love the title “It’s Better This Way”, it was the theme of the book where Julia and her adult girls have to pick up the pieces from the shock of an affair her husband had and asked for a divorce. The girls are heartbroken and angry with their Dad and his poor choices he made with his affair, plus the hurt he caused their mother. Will they all continue to let the hurt rule their lives or will they be able to eventually accept his choices and move forward with their own lives? This book will having you turning the pages to find out. Be sure to add this book to your TBR list!

Love beyond boundaries. I have laughed and cried many times while reading this book. What words can say that expresses how I love this author’s touch on this poignant story. I love how boundaries can be breached.

BETTER THIS WAY. This is so vacuously formulaic that it became unreadable. Added to that, the characters were so unlikable that I needed them to be out of my life. DNF.
