Fantastic new paranormal tale with memorable characters and a hot romance!. Take popular ‘70s tv series MASH, mix in some mythology from across the globe, throw in a touch of action/adventure, sprinkle a little romance novel on the top and you have a fun, exciting read that leaves you looking forward to more. Monster Mash is the first of a three installment trilogy by the author of the Demon Slayer and Southern Ghost Hunter series, Angie Fox. This story opens in the middle of a war between mythological gods, with the old guard on one side, the new blood on the other side, and mortals smack dab in the middle. Involuntary draftee and thoracic surgeon Dr. Petra Robichaud found herself patching up wounded soldiers in a front line mobile surgical hospital, and trying to keep a secret that could get her killed. We follow Petra through crowded operating rooms, dodging bad food in the mess tent, and bonding with her paranormal roomies, who are also fellow surgeons, until one day a soldier comes to her table and changes everything. Fox has certainly found her niche and hits the perfect notes with this book. The settings are colorful and detailed, characters rich and fleshed out, action exciting and suspenseful, and the plot intricate and well crafted. Two things set her writing apart, however. First are her subtle, and at times not so subtle, nods to things outside the world created within that particular book. Mentioning other books, characters, authors, etc. is a lovely wave ‘hello’ to her longtime readers, as well as readers of the genre. Second, her humor is, of course, ever present and always at exactly the right place in the story. I adore Fox’s quirky characters, and she’s got just the right tone with the blossoming romance between Petra and her love interest. The story was very interesting and the reading went quickly. The ending felt a hair rushed, but wrapped things up nicely, and was very satisfying. If you’re into Mary Janice Davidson, Katie MacAlister, or Dakota Cassidy this will be right up your alley. Paranormal, romance, suspense, action/adventure, and humor, this book has it all. A great opener to what promises to be a fantastic new trilogy. Excited for the second installment.

Love the characters!. I read the original books in this series and this is a re-release with some revisions. In this first book there is a war between the old gods and new gods. Petra is a doctor in limbo in one of the MASH units for the new gods. She also has a hidden ability that could bring peace and could also get her killed if anyone finds out. Galen is a demigod and soldier and Petra's patient. Together they work to find a way to end the war. I like the variety of supernaturals - werewolves, fae, vampires, imps and more. I think Galen and Petra will develop into a good love story. Some things that happen remind me of the TV show MASH. The way they all try to outdo each other to win the bet on who can prank the head of the MASH unit made me laugh. There's even a "Father Mulcahy" in the story along the lines of the TV show Mash. Overall I enjoyed the revisions made to this book from the original version and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Monster Mash by Angie Fox. The Monster Mash by Angie Fox 1st book in the Monster Mash trilogy. Originally published as Immortally Yours (2012). Refreshed and updated per the author to be closer to her vision with more comedy, less angst plus more swamp monsters. This book has humor, romance, funny quirky characters, a strong female lead, and a unique story line. Remember the TV series MASH? Picture that setting with a war between the old gods vs. the young gods, doctors and soldiers that are vampires, werewolves, and fey and of course, the priest. An engagingly good read. I’m looking forward to the updated next two books to see how they’ve changed and been modernized.

Angie Fox’s updated tale is impressive and funny!. I originally read this book back in 2012. I was not in love with it, mainly because it just didn't feel like Ms. Fox's writing style to me, but I loved (and still love) Angie Fox, so I pressed on and finished the book and continued on with the trilogy, only to stop after the second one, cause again it didn't really seem like what I would expect from the author. Flash-forward to the present, and turns out, this series is getting a make-over. I just finished reading the first and I can honestly say I can't wait for more. The whole thing seemed very fresh, but kept the same humor from the original. If you're a fan of Angie Fox pick this up either for the first time or try it again, you will not be disappointed.

Better than the Song!. I sat down to start this while everyone calmed down for bed. Now, everyone is sleeping and the book is suddenly over. I had no idea the hours had sped by. Another incredibly fantastic series from Angie Fox with open nods to other peers within the paranormal genre had me squealing like a teenage girl at their favorite boy band concert. It had everything from an original twist on mythology to incredible characters and brought all the feels. I can’t wipe the grin from my face. Thank you to NatGalley, Angie Fox, and Moose Island Books for giving me the chance to read this story and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.

Well worth the read AND REREAD. Oh. My. Gosh! I got to the first paragraph of the first chapter and I LOVED it already. The plot is reminiscent of MASH 4077 with some similarities and many brilliant differences. It’s a paranormal version of a never-ending battle – here between very unusual adversaries. Petra is a surgeon who was drafted by the gods to patch up combatants as well as she can. Her fellow surgeons and camp residents are very diverse and bizarre in some cases, but everyone works together to get their patients back to the war zone. The interactions between the characters and especially between Petra and a particular patient make for an exceptional story that’s well delivered and will make you beg for the next installment.

Fun new world created by Angie Fox. This is Monster Mash written by Angie Fox. Its a brand new start to a brand new series and seriously a wonderful new fantasy world full of some out of this world characters. Petra is a surgeon in a MASH unit that reflects some of the same feelings we got from watching the old television show called MASH on TV. The closeness of all of the medical personnel, the inability to keep anything secret and so much more. The book starts with a demigod on her table and a decision that will follow her for the rest of her life. Can Petra keep her secrets? What exactly is Galen up to? Could a demigod ever actually be interested in a human? Secrets and mysteries abound in this brand new series by Angie Fox!

Awesome book!. This new series is awesome! Angie continue to grab a reader from page one till the end. This new series is fun, romantic and funny. Another great book. Can’t wait for her next one!

Lighthearted MASH Comedy. Gods are at war separated into old and new Gods. Petra was conscripted to work in mobile medical unit in Limbo. Petra and the other people were targeted because of special powers and qualities. Being immortal in an endless war was not fun especially when the flow of causalities outpaces the hours in the day. This novel follows Petra through her encounters with the Gods until she meets Galen. Prophecies link Galen and Petra together and the novel shows the impact of this and other relationships on the war. A lighthearted approach to romantic comedy draws the audience in to keep turning the page. This was an interesting and entertaining book. I received an ARC. I would highly recommend this book.

The Monster Mash. I was introduced to Author Angie Fox with her Accidental Demon Slayer series. From book one of that series, I was hooked! There is a ton of depth and background to her stories, but it is never hard to follow. All of her stories have an element of fantasy to them but are somehow so believable. I love the mix of romance, mystery, and humor she delivers so effortlessly. I read every book until that series ended and then swapped over to her Southern Ghost Hunter series, which was just as good (Pleasantly surprising, since that isn’t always the case with some authors). So, when I heard there was a revamp of an old series, I jumped on board with both feet! This series is a little more similar to the Accidental Demon Slayer series, in a good way. You will immediately get sucked into a world of humans, werewolves, vampires and demi gods – all set in a MASH unit that is reminiscent of the old TV show, except the war is between the Old Gods and the New Gods and the unit is in Limbo (yes, The Limbo). And yet, all the characters feel so real and so “human”, that it’s easy to accept the fantasy world and just focus on the story itself. I don’t like to give away any of the story, but I will give some of my favorite attributes – a Strong female lead, a gorgeous and kind male lead, descriptions that make you feel that you are really there and living the storyline. It is a wonderful mashup of romance, action, humor, and fantasy that will give you a good escape as you read. I cannot wait until the next book in this series is out!!! Until then and the next book in the Southern Ghost Hunter series is out, I think I may start re-reading the Demon Slayer series! I highly recommend this, as well as her other series. You won't regret it!
