Fun and fast. Easy read with compelling characters

On the Rocks. Loved this Ruby Steele mystery! Intrigue, danger, and a corrupt and sometimes evil system bring Ruby out of her fog to rescue herself and find a killer.

Suspenseful Reading. A great book, I’ve quickly however I could have loved a better ending with Tim and thumb drive.

Too much violence.... I love mysteries and I liked the storyline... just a bit gory for my taste- especially for a cozy mystery.

Keep Moving- might not mean moving forward. Ruby is a former MMA fighter who took a career ending hit and spiraled after things got rocky with subsequent endeavors When she discovers a body behind the bar she now works at, she is torn. Her efforts to try to help the family of the dead man might bring her more lethal trouble than she can handle in her sloppy state Intense drama and action for a painfully self reflective, yet still in denial damaged fighter. Skills alone might not be enough to save her from the trouble she attracts, or from herself I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Interesting Character. Decent story written well. Main character is quite interesting though given unrealistic skill.

Excellent island mystery. Characters were engaging; descriptions were outstanding! Made me feel like I was in the Bahamas. The plot was intriguing and fast-paced. Really enjoyed reading this!!

Martial Arts whodunnit. I sat up reading to an unearthly hour. This book was brilliant. Good plot, funny even though there is serious and dangerous work for the main character, Ruby, to figure out. Gentle but forceful writing making the reader consider the seedier side of life.

Above average. A little bit above average for an unknown author. The story line was interesting enough to keep me reading until the end. Obvious fantasy with the athletic ability of the main character overdone, especially for a down and out alcoholic.
