Awesome!. Loved this book.

Don’t waste your time. This was a horribly written book I think a kid in 4th grade could have come up with better writing, character development, dialog. Sorry I wasted my time on this.

Pretty good mystery. This book had me hooked. The only con is the character Rose. I hated her. For someone in her professional position, she acted like an ignorant douche. Loved Whit!

Searching for missing girls. When two college girls in Texas go missing a FBI agent calls a friend Whit a professor of criminology to come and help him. He goes and takes his assistant Anna to go with him. They are both empaths and two eyes are better than one. As they go and search they find out that their more going on and that they hope to find them. With all that ding on will they find them alive? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Dead On Time. This riveting thriller has deceit, lies, secrets, manipulation and danger. This takes place in the small town of Aldridge, Texas with Whit and Anna trying to figure out what happened to two missing girls from different parts of town. Whit was a detective but quit to become a criminology professor who is also an empath. Anna is class assistant to Professor Filmore and a strong empath. Chief Rosemary Dash of the Aldridge Police Department is trying to prove herself but still has issues trusting men due to her ex husband. In her small town Bull Buller is the richest guy who everyone listens to. Interesting way to write this case that kept me devouring the pages trying to figure out what happened.

Dead On Time. Really enjoyed it. It is an easy read. It provided a nice break to a busy day.

Amazing story. Interesteing story

Professor Filmore. Every once in a while, I like to read some fast paced mystery thriller and this author always delivers! This book follows former detective, now college professor, Whit Filmore and his assistant Anna. They are called to help with a case of two college girls gone missing in a small town in Texas. I really enjoyed this one, it grabbed me from the start and I read it in one sitting! As always, characters are easy to connect to and there’s always lots of mystery and intrigue to keep you turning pages! And some surprising twists you will not see coming! I look forward to read more!

Dead on time. If you want a solid who did it story, this is it. If you want a scary, bloody, murder mystery, this is not it. I have read over 100 stories during Covid and this mystery kept my attention without the typical blood and guts that average writers need to add because their writing talent is not there. This book is well written and smart.

Dumb. Good read but it jumps back and forth to third person. And improper english. So I had to reread sentences to figure out who was talking. Should have been better proof read. Or its just a sign of the times as with texting. Punctuation and improper sentences structure create confusion.

Death on Time. Very good and interesting story. However the nasty language could have been left out. Why do wrighters think they have to include all that junk in order for it to sell? Don’t they have enough confidence in their ability to write a good clean story withot unnecessary bad words. I do admit the bad words were mild compared to a lot of other books I have started to read but didn’t finish. All the explicit sex in these books is actually boring.

Good read. Enjoyed the plot.. I like the character of the professor.

Characters were just bad. Plot was mid. Characters were one dimensional and borderline insufferable with cliche lines and personalities. I have time to kill at work, so I’ll elaborate. You have the token girl that everyone and their dog finds attractive. She is effortlessly intelligent and yet watered down to eye candy whenever a man other than her mentor is in the scene. Her biggest use to help further the investigation was by flirting with a character who’s personality consisted of dumb and horny. Then you have the “cool” guy who all women fawn over because he’s a guy with unrealistic fame, isn’t trying to bang everything that resembles a woman, and happens to have a hunch (that’s always right) for everything. He’s also the guy that constantly says “not all men are trash, my ex-wife was horrible to me” at any chance he gets; which happens to be around the man-hating woman that kind of has the hots for him but she wants to deny it because she has a hard time believing that all men don’t cheat. And given the side characters, who either have the personality of drywall or are just horny, maybe a mentality against men should be standard in whatever world this takes place. Anything positive about this story? The concept of a bacon bagel sandwich sounded delicious so I now know what I’ll be having for lunch. That’s what gets this book a single star.

Twisted. This read took unexpected twists and turns that kept the page turning at a maximum. Unless you’re really good at seeing in to foreshadowing this read will throw you for twists and turns too cover to cover. Phenomenal job, well written.

Dead on time. Good quick read. Was kept interested through to end. Had no idea who was guilty.

Great escape into thriller world. Couldn’t put it down. Vivid story. Love the characters.

My mistake. American authors. W L Knightly is the pen name used by two suburban Mom writers who started out writing YA and kept going. Detective turned college professor (of criminology) and his female teaching assistant/grad student/side-kick are dispatched to east Texas by an old acquaintance from the FBI to find Young Sheldon. No, to find the daughter of a local rich dude who has gone missing. Except there’s a second chick missing too: daughter of poor black dude. Turns out the prof and his offsider are both “empaths,” which I now know is a term used in science fiction for a person with a paranormal ability to perceive the mental or emotional state of another individual. Yada, yada, investigation proceeds. Empaths do their thang. The end. I thought the writing was lame, the editing heinous, but what would I know? The average rating on Goodreads is 4.15.

Not quite the level I was expecting. Good premise but clumsy prose and poorly fleshed out characters and themes let it down. I would have liked the whole ‘empath’ angle to be more fully explored.. it all boiled down to a few ‘looks’ between professor and student.. hardly riveting stuff and ultimately disappointing.

It was ok.. The book’s plot was interesting but the bad grammar was very distracting. They need a proofreader.

A cross between Ghost Whisperer and Criminal Minds. This is kind of what I imagine a cross between Ghost Whisperer and Criminal Minds would look like, even though there are no actual ghosts involved. The mystery is tense and suspenseful. The characters, complex yet somewhat whimsical. And the paranormal aspects of the story are surprisingly low key. I loved getting this look into Whit’s life and following along as he and his assistant Anna investigated the disappearances. They kept me guessing to the very end. I can’t wait to read more about these characters. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

Not bad. Story was good with a good twist but the writing was a little amateurish, imho.
