Great story. Great read, couldn’t put it down

Starts out dark and depressing!. I have enjoyed many books written by this author but I have mixed emotions about this story. The first 35% of this book was dark and depressing, with some seriously disturbing letters.  It was almost like reading two different books that tie into each other in an almost unnecessary way. I am glad that I kept reading because after she met Declan is when this amazing romance started.  This story is about Grey and Declan. He owns a garage in Berry Springs.  She’s running from a tragic past and a present that’s ready to ruin her ENTIRE life. It took a lot for me to like Grey.  She made some truly repulsive decisions and kept on making them.  Declan is an amazing man.  The amount of patience and forgiveness this man has inside of him, despite everything, makes him worth more than his weight in gold.   Even though a large portion of this book was not for me, I still look forward to the next book this author writes.

Didn’t appreciate. This woman is supposed to be from NYC but is appalled by the idea of going to a therapist? And worse—she’s had a miscarriage—and says multiple times that she thinks she might not be ever able to have children bc she’s had one miscarriage. That’s so unbelievably offensive. The author really should take those parts out bc without them the book is actually good.

Great story. I so enjoyed this book! Really had a hard time putting it down. The story was good and I learned not to eat or drink while reading it after snorting water out my nose…twice. This author has a wicked sense of humor.

Fantastic. The first chapter hooks you. It is compelling, mysterious, suspenseful, and yet, heartfelt. This is an emotional story with ups and downs, coming to grips with your past, your failures, and your strength to move forward. It’s heavy on narration which usually boggs down a story, but it fits the contemplative nature of the heroine. It works in this story. It works well. You can relate easily to the main characters, Grey and Declan. They are both working on themselves and are still able to lend support to each other. HEA. Recommend. There are potential triggers; alcohol abuse, rough sex, murder, miscarriage, and violence. A couple of things bothered me. Why did Grey not bring up the discrepancy of the house picture to the realtor-false advertising vs dump. Also, the statement, (that’s) the moment I fell in love with Declan Montgomery, was used twice- chaps 42,43. I don’t think it was intentional. I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
