Worth the read. Great book, keeps you interested and I really had no idea who could have done it.

Nice Cozy Mystery. This was a very relaxing story - clean with a couple of great mysteries that take twists you don’t expect - a little romance thrown in, but just enough: not so much that you get nauseated. Make a cup of tea & enjoy the getaway!

When money is the priority.. Interesting who done it. The parts about her interactions with her son wore me out. She was lucky she had helpful friends and family. Made my choice not to have children the best for me.

Gripping. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

Wow. Interesting finding out about who’s responsible for the killings.

Excellent Stroy that Covers Serious Issues - With some issues itself. This book covers excellent themes. As does the second in the series. Of course, she falls for the cop. It gives a totally unrealistic picture of cops. And breaks some major legal rules. Also, she has a unrealistic picture of when a person can become a mother. At age 45, she is genetically a grandmother, not a first time toddler's mother. Not even possible. And her 70+ year old parents are not going to be that active. At least by the second book she attempts to realize her unrealistic forever young expectations. The second book is a bit scary, with some very real issues.

Great book. It’s a great mystery, one that you can read before bed and not freak out, with just enough suspense so it’s not like a kids book. My only problem with it is that her son whose age is two, acts and talks more like an almost 4 yr old. (I know this because I have a 4 yr old boy) other than that this book is amazing

Absolutely perfect. This was a perfect read and was everything I wanted and more. The mix of mystery and romance made it hard to put down. Now time to continue the series.

Good Read. Loved Paisley and most of the other characters (the “gooders”). Rooted for her to open her heart to the sheriff. Intriguing plot that kept me guessing. Resonated with Paisley’s compassionate and non-bigoted outlook on life and people. There’s a little too much emphasis on the two-year-old!

Well Developed. This was a well developed plot with charming setting. The characters were carefully created and not stock, predictable stereotypes.

Loved it, next please!. Paisley, single mom & historian is searching through a deserted store when she finds more than she bargained for! Laugh out loud toddler moments, a hunky love interest & a mystery!

Never saw it coming!. I love figuring out whodunnit before the heroine does, but I love it even more when all the evidence is there but it’s a surprise. And this was a surprise! Bookens has written a great character with heart, curiosity, and integrity and I can’t wait to read the whole series!

Not really worth reading…it had every current scenario..every buzz word …every newspaper head line…older women with toddler and no husband…really…I don’t think she could have added one more cliché…without opening a newspaper today .. Cute story line …would have mad a great story 😞

Fun read. Wonderful character development. I felt I knew each individual as the story progressed. So many twists and turns to keep the book in my hands at all times. Couldn’t put it down. Fun and easy read . Can’t wait to read the next book. Kudos to the author for sharing this entertaining story.

Back from the days when marijuana was illegal!. A well written murder mystery revolving around marijuana drug dealing back when it was illegal! The book did hit some fine points with other topics too, like the daily challenges of toddler parenting. Overall, a good read for budding readers!

Too Much Sawyer. A murder story that spends 80% of the time explaining how a single mom raises her two year old son named Sawyer. Other than that it was mildly entertaining.

Crossed Death. Such a fun read. The toddler adventures come alive as we help raise our great grands. And the budding romance between her and the sheriff as well as the wisdom of the ages from God mixed with solving murder and history make this a book to share.

Exciting but brought a smile to my heart. The characters were wholesome, no bad language but good plot.

Brilliant. This book brilliantly combines all my interests, sewing/crafts, antiques and crime series. I normally read historical fiction like late 1800’s through mid 1900’s so seeing references to modern day things such as Etsy and Facebook took a little getting used to, but it’s well written and it reads almost the same way you watch a show such as law and order play out. I even have some patterns in my Etsy cart from the shop she mentions.

This little gym. What a good read! Can’t wait for more!

Real characters and a good solid story. I felt like the characters could actually be real people, with feelings and responses I recognise, rather than the usual dramatised characters found in light hearted books. I suspect any working Mum will appreciate the honesty expressed by Paisley showing how parenting toddlers is delightful, exhausting, stressful and even, sometimes, boring. Paired with a strong and interesting story it’s a winning combination.
