Finding Home by B. E. Baker Book Summary

"This is a rollicking adventure filled with the most unlikely (but welcome) coincidences and drama as Beth and Cole strive to find a place where they can both belong. Finding Home is a perfect 10." –Publisher's Weekly.

There's no place (that really feels) like home.

Cole's mother married the Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein when he was only three years old. When his step-father's failing health requires Cole to step in and help out, he does it without complaint, knowing he can never ascend the throne. When his step-father offers to adopt him, Cole knows it's unlikely the other members of the Princely Family will ever accept an adopted heir.

Even so, part of him wants to try.

Beth grew up surrounded by loving siblings and doting parents, but she wasn't born into this idyllic family. When her biological mother reaches out, explaining that she's a pop star in Europe, Beth feels as if fate has orchestrated their reunion. Her bio mom is impressed with Beth's skill at the piano and invites her to join the European tour. Beth jumps at the chance.

The reality isn't quite the dream she imagined.

When Beth finds herself in a jam in the middle of Europe, can Cole rescue the damsel in distress, even though he's not actually a prince? And can Cole and Beth find the true meaning of home. . . together?

Check out the full review from Publisher's Weekly:

Hair stylist Beth Graham's biomom, the famous pop star Henrietta Gauvon, has just turned up out of the blue and invited her to tour in Europe as her pianist. Cole's mother married the Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein when he was only three years old, but even should he become an adopted son of the fabulously wealthy royal family, Cole will never sit on the throne.

Beth and Cole tell the story in the first-person in alternating chapters. B.E. Baker (Bridget E. Baker's penname for her romance novels), writes crisp, easy-to-read prose that leaves you gasping as one revelation gives way to the next in fewer sentences than you would believe possible. She has an excellent ear for dialogue.

This mixture of historical fact and pure invention is so entertaining that trying to parse what is true and what is not is simply not worth the effort. An effervescent romance that is truly fun to read. Beth and Cole both face serious challenges and rejection as they make their way toward home and their own fairy tale ending, and both mature as a result.

This is a rollicking adventure filled with the most unlikely (but welcome) coincidences and drama as Beth and Cole strive to find a place where they can both belong. Finding Home is a perfect 10.

Love. Really worth a read! Baker is such a wonderful storyteller and this book is totally worth it!

A Must Read!. I laughed, cried, and smiled ridiculously through this wonderful journey. You’ve got to read this!

Love and royalty! Creative and fun story!. Great story! I loved Beth and Cole and their prospective struggles and emotional journeys. The blending of two cultures was fascinating, and I loved learning more about Liechtenstein! I love how these stories intertwine, and I got to see Paisley and James again and learn more about the past with Noel.

Good. Good

Love all the travel!. I always love a book where the characters visit new places. Such a fun read! Highly recommended!

Finding Home. I love a story that keeps my interest . This is one that did just that. I loved the characters, the humor, the love, the sadness that developed and of course the happy ending. thank you so much .A book I could read again.

Traveling from your favorite chair. This is such a great book and I love the places I got to visit via the story. I knew virtually nothing about Liechtenstein, but now it’s on my travel list for when the royals open their house to the public. What fun information about a far away land all wrapped in a fascinating story of love and finding your place in life. Baker does a masterful job of creating realistic characters and drawing the reader into their story. Loved this book and Beth and Cole.

Finding Home. Once again, heart warming. Love feel good movies. This is another feel good book. 😍

Talent and drive. Beth is adopted. While she loves her family she doesn’t feel that she belongs as much as the other kids. Yet she sacrifices for her family all the same. It is the kind of person she is. When she meets her real Mom she jumps at the chance to get to know the woman who gave her up. Moving to Europe isn’t exactly what she thinks it will be. But she meets Cole and things get a bit more complicated. Cole is the son of a prince. He connects with Beth. They understand one another. Cole’s real dad died when he was only three. So when the prince dies, Cole can’t be the next Prince. This book is about new love. It is also about discovering what family and home really mean. Family isn’t all about the blood that runs in our veins.

Perfect read!. So my best friend is Beth and I love playing the piano. I loved that Beth could go across seas to play piano and do what she loved. Finding romance there was the icing on the cake! Such a great read!

Home is where you can live your purpose. Beth’s life is…okay. She has a job she mostly enjoys, cutting hair. She has a creative outlet for her music, taking the occasional piano gig. And she has a family who loves her deeply, even though they’re not hers by blood. But when her birth mom finds her and offers her the job of a lifetime, joining her on tour and performing across Europe, she immediately accepts. Finally she has the chance to connect with real family and follow her passion for music. But unforeseen circumstances leave her stranded in Germany. Thankfully her friend Paisley lives nearby and offers her a place to stay. And thankfully Paisley's brother is able to pick Beth up to bring her to Liechtenstein. Paisley apparently forgot to mention that Cole is handsome and single. And in search of his place in life, just like Beth. He’s been leading the country as his father’s health declines, but since he is adopted he can’t officially rule. While Beth waits for the music tour to begin, she gets a glimpse of daily life in this small country. She watches as Cole pours his heart into serving them and how they love him in return. She begins to explore her own musical potential and how she can touch people with her gift. Could there be a place for her in Liechtenstein? And in Cole’s heart? I loved how this book explored what makes family: genetics or love. And the idea that talents are not given to us for our own benefit, but to share with others. Beth’s days in Liechtenstein before her tour began were life-changing, not just because she met Cole but because she learned how to truly perform: not as an exalted musical idol before adoring fans, but someone who connects with the audience and gives to them. As she commented, “There’s beauty in serving others,” whether cutting hair or performing for thousands. Finally, I LOVED that Beth was not the typical heroine, looking like a supermodel. She’s initially uncomfortable with her appearance (one date literally fled when he saw her without makeup and nice clothes), and Cole doesn’t find her attractive at first sight. But as he observes her beautiful nature, and as she grows in confidence and her natural beauty begins to shine, she becomes breathtakingly beautiful to him. Cole and Beth learn that together, they don’t lose part of themselves but instead gain.

Great book with some fun travel/info. This is book 6 in a series and you can read it on its own but it’s much richer with the back story from the other books. Beth is Robert’s sister, who is adopted and Cole is Paisley’s half brother. Both of then struggle with their parentage and how they relates to who they are. Beth is an amazing musician and Cole is basically a prince. Loved their love story.

Finding Home. Great story!!!!

The prince and the hair dresser. Baker did a nice job with these two meeting. Not lots of drama; a down-to-earth relationship all along. The story reminds us to be forthcoming with each other and not make assumptions about others’ thoughts. And Baker did it with genuine life-like, very human, responses to situations (without beating a dead horse about it).

Finding Home. First time reading this author. Sort of a modern day fairy tale with lots of bumps in the road. Clean and sweet.

Great read.. Good read and great characters. I enjoyed reading this story and the author’s way of including adoption and the feelings of the adoptive children. I loved the characters.

A Beautiful Love Story. Beth and Cole are some of my favorites in this whole series. Not only are their stories unique and interesting, you can’t help but fall in love with them yourself. The fact that these two lost souls find each other is awe inspiring and entertaining. I recommend this book and series to all of my friends. So good!

Good. It was good but there was soooo much about the government of Liechtenstein I was suffering lowkey
