I couldn’t put this series down. I received this as a gift awhile ago and finally got around to reading it. I started Ascension three days ago and just finished book six tonight - I could not put this series down. From start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed the world building, the character arcs, the cliffhangers; fast paced but slow enough to make you truly care about each and every character, without giving anything away, I truly hope this author revisits this world again - the ending was beautiful. What a wild ride.

New plot twist. This was not what I expected. It was so much more. Cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

This is the second book?. Not sure what’s happening but there might’ve been a mistake with the latest update? I downloaded Ascension, but it’s actually Reckoning (the second book). And Reckoning is also still Reckoning. Even when you just get the sample of Ascension, it’s the same as the sample of Reckoning, even though it says it’s Ascension. (I liked the book, but wanted to leave this rating to let someone know.)

Ascension. Great read. A different view about how the human race changed into mages, shifters, ciphers and others as ancient vampires control territories like a godfather. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Starting in the middle?. I don’t know if they mislabeled the book, but this dropped me in the middle of the story, & not in a good way. It started without explaining what was going on or who the characters were. I kept expecting some flash to a backstory that never materialized. For me there wasn’t much progression & the plot twists seemed pointless & neck-breaking. I was left feeling more dazed & confused than a glamoured human in any fantasy book

A full panoply of magic. An amazing collection of characters interacting on several levels. This is an interesting book that I enjoyed reading.

Read it in one day. Very unique trajectory with a different spin on familiar but new concepts. Very enjoyable - read it in one day!
