Waste of time. Usually enjoy his books, but I couldn’t get through this - he mailed it in - heard he’s retiring - with this book, I think he already did - we should all get our money back… ugh

Great read!. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. A real page turner.

Winslow hits another homer. Great story. Couldn’t put it down.

Is Don done?. Don Winslow has been my favorite author for years. I’ve literally read everything he’s published and loved every word. Unfortunately, it seems he‘a recently spent more time working on his tweets than his “novels”. This one seemed rushed. I still don’t really know any of the main characters. Not really. I hope Don bounces back as an author and takes a break from being an activist.

Great Book!. I couldn’t stop reading it! Well written!

Not my favorite. Don Winslow ‘s “The Cartel” was a great book. This was a waste of money and time. Cheesy, predictable and brainless I expected more from this author. This is only my opinion.

Great book. Just another great Don Winslow book with a great cast of characters. Can’t wait for the next one!

A City on Fire. A very enjoyable read.

Not my favorite. I have high expectations for Winslow. His novels are usually fresh with interesting and vibrant characters, fun twists, engaging prose, and social commentary. I found this book a little gray and the characters cut from central casting. The prose was trying too hard to be “authentic.” It was hard for me to get invested in the story or the people in it. None felt like heroes. Hard to root for any of them or care that much. Just one long turf war. It has its bright spots but not at the top of Winslow’s list.

A new writer for me. A taut and well written book. Makes me want to read his earlier offerings

A Thrilling Crime Epic. A thrilling crime epic that starts small and blows up to all out chaos by the end. The pages are filled with tested loyalties, vicious betrayals, and twists and turns you’ll never see coming. Excellent!

Better than good. This is the first novel I’ve read from this author. This was a really fun ride. So many twists and turns. Time to start his other books.

Outstanding!. Winslow never disappoints. Finished this book in one day. Impossible to put down.

Okay. Nor my cup of tea. Lots of death and not much in return.

Plowed through. in two sittings. Can’t wait for book two.
