Spectacularly delusional and miscalculated. I find it difficult to understand that someone is able to research a topic, and then cherry pick the importance of data and other information presented in such a way as to adopt a completely erroneous and spurious conclusion. This book has shown me how this is possible, and indeed, inevitable, to those wishing to conflate conspiracy theories, which ultimately have their origin quite firmly grounded in racism and other prejudice. There are stories presented that do not support the conclusions claimed by the author, in fact, many of the tales, when coupled with other publicly available and well verified material, support the opposite conclusions. In my opinion, there is around as much veracity in this book as there is in the Christian bible. It was an interesting read, but by no mens compelling, such is the nature of the many logic holes left open by the author. If you have been listening to the accompanying podcast, and am of similar opinion, I’m sure you have spent some time wondering in amazement at the interviewing style, but may also rest easy knowing that this is the style of information collection that leads to the publication of this volume of abstract fiction. But then, I ain’t ‘woke’, so take my review with whatever value you decide it is worth.
