Beyond ridiculous. This has got to be the most idiotic book I ever paid money for. Calling the plot far-fetched and ludicrous would be a massive understatement. And the writing is terrible. It’s as though someone took random post-it’s with snippets of (bad) ideas, did minimal arranging and added a title. Maybe if SW should focus a bit more on quality, rather than quantity of “stories” he cranks out. Also, the eat/have sex/sleep/move to a new location/shoot a bad guy/ rinse and repeat routine is mind-numbing.

I don't know why I keep reading these. It's another mailed in Stone Barrington, but I know I'll still read the next one and the one after that.

Same ol……. They eat, they drink, they have sex, then repeat. Then they’ll shoot someone. Then eat, drink, and sex. If I lived that way I would be severely obese but sexually satisfied!

Same old stuff too predictable. Author needs to write something new every book is the same trash . I think I’ve read my last Barrington novel.

Blah. This book was terrible. Contrived plot that moved at the pace of grass growing. Characters that were not only unbelievable but so thin that one dimensional is a compliment. So sad to see this peddled as a novel. Think of it more as a cross between a children’s book and instruction manual for how to use a pencil.

Logic Bombarama. Woods has run out of interesting plots and converted his characters to clownish slapstick characters. At least he spared us yet another character from Delano. There are so many logic bombs in this novel it makes you wonder if Woods has some cognitive issues; for sure his editor has.

A safe house. Really good read, if a little far fetched. Good ending.

Worse one Yet. I’ve read all the Barrington books. Yes, they are all trite, but this one was beyond the pale. Ridiculous story line, and political. I don’t need any more politics when I am reading for fun. Mr. woods, please focus more on quality and less on quantity or you will lose another faithful reader.

Safe House. I keep praying that there a 12 step program to break me of the Stuart Woods habit. The latest tome consists of Stone in bed with one and even two women in almost every chapter. If the time line of the Barrington stories starting in 1991 holds true Stone should now be in his mid sixties. He either has the libido of Don Juan, or is a Phizer poster child. Come on Stuart you can do better than this, and if not retire the character and start something new. No need to put us through the drivel of a novel only to wrap everything up in five paragraphs at the end.

Safe House. This is truest one of my least favorite books of woods and definitely not worth $15. Very trite dialogue, poorly developed characters and ridiculous plot line. Definitely not the quality of 5 years ago?

This book is an embarrassment …. I read a lot of books and have read the entire Stone Barrington series. As the author (& character) ages, the stories have gotten more absurd and stupid. Barrington has become a caricature of himself. In my life, I have never read a book published by a major publisher, as sophmoric and poorly written as this book. The storyline (what little there is of one) is ludicrous. The characters reminded me of the old “Batman” TV series. I expected The Joker to pop up, any minute. If a high school Jr. wrote this book for his creative writing class, he would probably earn a “C”. If a college Sophomore wrote it, he’d undoubtedly be scheduled for remedial classes. Woods’ work as been going downhill for years and now it’s hit rock bottom. I gave up after 100 pages. If you’re really bored, watch re-runs of Dragnet. Joe Friday was a deeper character and delivered better lines than anything in this book.

Don’t waste your time. I stopped reading these Barringtion books a couple of years ago, they became repetitive, and even silly. While looking for something to read I gave Stone another go. This book is ridiculous a high school kid could’ve done this. Stuart can’t help bringing politics into his books, like that is what we’re looking for when we pick up a book in these days?? Poorly written, unrealistic, not even plausible. A total waste of 14 bucks and 7 hrs. I’m done wit SW

Safe House. Good beginning, nice middle, but really stupid ending. Stuart Woods needs to write fewer books since he’s losing relevance.

A Safe House. Love all of Stuart Wood’s books. Have read every one of them so far. Ordered Black Dog already.
