Ann Hillerman latest. Another great Hillerman book!!

The Sacred Bridge. It was good and likable as usual but annoying that it took Jim Chee so long to realize who the very obvious murderer was. I do want to go to Utah now and see the sights around Lake Powell.

The Sacred Bridge. Anne Hillerman. Another excellent read in this series!!! Bernie witnesses a man intentionally hit by a car and then the driver runs over the man again. This leads onto her going undercover at a Marijuana growing facility which is also involved in numerous illegal activities which the Feds are also investigating. Chee while hiking on vacation near Lake Powell finds a dead body washed ashore. This evolves into a family jealousy which leads to murder. Enjoyed immensely!!! My highest recommendation!!

Another Hillerman gift. I first read one of Tony Hillerman’s books while traveling in the Florida Keys. I believe it was the blessing way. Since them I have read almost everything he has written and all of his daughters books that continue the series and I have enjoyed them all. The setting in Navajo country adds something for me as I got to travel in that area with my family many years ago when a teenager. The books are both good mysteries, exciting, and engage the reader into the culture of the Navajo and to a lesser degree the Hopi people. My fingers are crossed that the series will continue. This story takes place on and around lake Powell. I still remember the construction of the Glen Canyon dam and the efforts made to stop its construction. My father took the rest of the family on a boating trip through the lake as it was filling up and while many of the tributary canyons were just beginning to fill.The story involves tourist trips around the lake and the perspectives of an elderly archeologist who tried to document what was being covered as lake Powell filled. There is of course a murder. At the same time there is an investigation of a marijuana farm suspected of illegal activities.
