Into the Storm. A*R*C for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars Into the Storm is book 1 in the Evidence: Under Fire series by Rachel Storm and a new to me author. Oh my, this leads me to finding more of her books! Since this is my first book by Ms. Grant she certainly did not disappoint. This story take you on a rollercoaster ride of suspense, edge of your seat action, danger, SEALs, friendships, having each other’s back, heart pounding drama with romance for Xavier and Audrey too... I certainly can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Couldn’t Put It Down!. Absolutely fantastic book! Started out strong and didn’t let up until the very last page. I was completely engrossed in this one. I loved the two main characters, Xavier and Audrey. Both were strong, independent and mature people. The side characters were equally interesting. And the park seemed to be as much a character as the people, with the author’s wonderful descriptions. I thought the concept of the book was fascinating and enjoyed learning more about National Parks and their seemingly endless possibilities for education, enlightenment and pure beauty. I devoured every word of this book and would highly recommend it. (Also recommended is the prequel, “Before The Storm: One Hot Night”.)

Loved it!!!!. I loved the extra layer of realism in the archeology layer of the book, provided by the author’s own experience and knowledge in the field. The details and insights she is able to provide truly makes her stories more immersive, and in my humble opinion, a level above others in the genre that lack research on fields core to the story. I loved this book, the romance and non romance plot lines were both amazing, I actually got sucked down a rabbit hole reading 9+ of her other books for the very first time looking for more (I was not disappointed).

Just an okay book until….. I usually don’t write book reviews..but I hate the fact that toward the end the main character inserts a very political ideology about “gender” not being assigned at birth. Then the rough and tough navy seal, agrees. Ruined the book for me ! Maybe not for others.

Great Read. Into the Storm (Evidence: Under Fire 1) by Rachel Grant is unputdownable!! It’s got action, danger, love, and heat to keep you never wanting the story to end. It was literally a perfect mixture of mystery, intrigue, and heat to hook me from the beginning making it hard to put down to even do anything until I had completely finished it. I literally had to know what was going to happen with Xavier and Audrey, George, and the rest of the SEAL team. Highly recommend!!

Action packed suspense!. This book has such deep character development and the plot is fresh and engaging. About half way thru the book I could not imagine what was next, and I was right. The path of treachery is so intense and realistic you start to hope that fiction always remains fiction. The military aspects and the scientific aspects are both well developed and would satisfy the reader who enjoys either. Then you have the politics involved in any government entity, even national parks and the dialog is fresh and real. The romance is every bit as compelling as you expect when a Seal is involved. The focus that Xavier has a Seal is matched by that Audrey has as an This book has such deep character development and the plot is fresh and engaging. Xavier and Audrey are both tough and focused on their goals. The huge question is can both survive and complete their professional goals, not to mention solve their relationship issues. Be sure you have extra reading time when you start this book, you will not want to put it down.

Gender. I was enjoying it until they suggested their baby may want to change their gender.

Edge-of-Your-Seat Action Adventure!!. Set in the pacific Northwest, January in Olympic National Park. A Navy SEAL exercise gone completely sideways. Archaeologist Audrey Kendrick and Navy SEAL Xavier Rivera, who had one special night together before he betrays her in the worst possible way. Lives are on the line. The enemy is well armed, and well prepared. The SEALs have no real weapons for the exercise and do not expect deadly force. Stunning, gritty and realistic. The reader will find themselves in the thick of action, and glued to their seat until the final page.

Hot suspenseful and nail biting. Hold onto your hat for Xavier and Audrey stormy ride - you’ll love it. After the prequel I was thinking Xavier was kind of a jerk and I was dying to get my hands on this book to see how the conflict between he and Audrey was resolved. The story did not disappoint. The story grabbed me by throat from the very first word and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last one. This hot suspenseful romance keeps you enthralled and is filled with smart funny and wildly appealing characters and an edge of your seat story. The adventure of Xavier and Audrey will give you all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, gasping, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering. Xavier is a former SEAL who now trains SEALs and is currently conducting a training exercise in a national park. Audrey is the ONP archeologist to the Park. Despite an imminent storm, when the cameras on a recently looted historic burial site go out, she immediately goes to the Park fearing the worst. This choice throws Audrey and Xavier together again. Audrey and Xavier had a sizzling and life changing one night stand that 6 weeks later ended in betrayal (detailed in Before the Storm but also explained in this story). There are no happy feelings when they find themselves stranded in the park, in the middle of a winter storm, running from evil bad guys. Once they at least partly grasp the situation they are in, the intrigue, danger, excitement and romance surge into roller coaster pacing. The book has a little bit of everything just like you would expect from romantic suspense - sweet moments, strong friendships, sexy times, real life issues, imperfect characters, dangerous moments, mystery, uber protective men, secrets, painful pasts, evil actors, and so much love. The story included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I love when romantic suspense keeps me guessing the motives of the bad guys. This author is the queen of this genre.

Excellent listen/read.. OMG, this book should be snapped up by some movie producer, a definite exciting and action packed listen/read. I listened to this and the prequel “Before the Storm” in two days time. The narrators Nicol Zanzarella and Greg Tremblay do an outstanding job. What starts as a heart breaking personal betrayal, spirals into a unputdownable exciting drama ridden adventure listen/read. Add this newest series to your listening/TBR list.

Awesome!. This review is for Into the Storm by Rachel Grant. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Let me start out by saying Rachel Grant is one of my favorite authors so this review is strongly biased. But that doesn’t really matter because this is a fantastic book! There are already many positive reviews for this book, so you might think there is nothing new to say. I’m sure someone said it was action packed and kept them on the edge of their seat. Or that the characters were well developed and had great back stories so you could understand their actions. What you might not have read is that the scenes are so well described that in the middle of a heat wave in Iowa, I was freezing cold because the characters where so cold. Or that I think I could find my way around the entire park with the detailed descriptions. So yes, it is a fantastic book! But you don’t have to take my word for it: read it yourself and become hooked Rachel Grant’s books like I have.

A nonstop adrenaline rush…. I love this book for so many reasons, the strong female character is a huge draw for me. The action packed suspense keeps you thinking, as are the characters, about resources and survival. Once I started this book the intricate tale wouldn’t let me go. Audrey is is my spirit animal, knowing from a young age what she wanted to do when she grew up she didn’t let anything stop her from getting her dream job. That determination is put to the test when she is caught up in a real life terrorist attack. With a man she has reason to despise. Xavier is a good honorable sailor who has done a bad thing and hurt a special woman along the way. Now he has to save her, his fellow Seals, and himself from an unknown assailant. And just maybe win back the woman who could be his forever. Loved this thrilling heart wrenching read!

Amazing read. I was lucky enough to find this author by chance through another author. I don’t read thrillers like this often but there are maybe 2 author, including Rachel, that I don’t think twice. This is a captivating, compelling ride that will keep you in the edge the entire time. This story is fast paced from start to finish and I guarantee once you read it, you’ll be going to this author’s library to read everything she has. The characters are meticulously created. I loved Audrey who shoots from the hip and doesn’t take crap from anyone and she is in a situation where she needs all of her strength and gumption while she tries to find a way to rescue herself. Xavier would seem, to me, to be the funny penny - I wasn’t sure how he was going to fit at first. He’s your typical, alpha hero but was he right for this situation? And, as it turned out, he was that and more. I was sorry when the story ended but look patiently forward to this author’s next book (hurry, hurry 😆). an alpha hero (fun in books but do you really want one in real life?), he’s self-aware enough to know when he is wrong and not expect all things good to come his way.

Wow. This book has it all…action, mystery, romance, and as always in Rachel Grant books, suspense. It was a thoroughly fun read…twist and turns galore! Can’t wait for next book!
