Best author of all time. Tolkien is the only author that can get a reader to love adventures the hobbit and the lord of the rings and all other middle earth books are amazing the hobbit is number one why because the excitement the stone giants the dragon Smaug all of it is just awesome

Great in the Beginning, So-So end. The beginning was a great bit of fun and exciting adventures although once the hobbit and his companions get to the lonely mountain, things feel a bit rushed. Overall pretty fun.

Even better now than when I read it in class in 7th grade!. Tolkien is a delight to read, especially for readers who pace naturally and visualize eagerly. It can be read through if your determined out you can read a bit and pause and think and both are very rewarding methods of reading this book. While not as serious in tone as his other works it is just a grand and beautiful!
