Not my favorite work from Sparks. For the first time ever, I was not “wowed” by a Nicholas Sparks book. I struggled to connect to any of the main characters - Beverly, Colby or Morgan. It may be because I am so much older than they are written & don’t relate to the TikTok generation well. The story just seemed to drag for me & I felt the romance between Colby & Morgan fell flat - it lacked the magic of a typical Sparks couple. I also felt the end was rushed, once Colby landed back home. Morgan was all of a sudden famous & they split up & were back together in a matter of pages. Overall, I felt “Dreamland” really lacked depth & the characters were shallow. Not my favorite Nicholas Sparks novel.

Dreamland. What a wonderful love story. Nicholas Sparks has done it again. Always need a box of tissues when your reading his stories.

Didn’t even finish. I’m sorry to say this… the ONLY book by Nicholas sparks that was truly awful to read. I couldn’t bring myself to even finish it because it was so boring. I’m disappointed… Every other book has been a page turner and I loved them. Unfortunately this book was not the same in my opinion

Night Work. Soo interesting from beginning to end. It was hard to put down even to answer the phone or the door. Haven’t enjoyed a book this much in years!

A Page Turner!. A book that will blow you away because you won’t see anything coming! Absolutely loved this book! This book has two story lines: Colby Mills hasn’t always had an easy life, raised by his aunt and uncle in Eastern, NC. He had to put his goals aside when his uncle died of a massive heart attack. He had to step up and take over running the family farm. Colby had been in a band, but now just played occasionally for local parties. Colby was playing at a party when the booker of a bar from St. Petersburg, Florida was there and asked if he would come down to play for 2 weeks. He agreed, since he hadn’t taken a vacation and needed one badly. Will this give him the push he needs to pursue his music career? Beverly is living with an abusive husband who not only physically hurts her, but also causes harm to her son. She knows she has to leave and takes the opportunity one night. Her husband works for the Department of Homeland Security, so is well connected to law enforcement. Will she be able to hide from her husband and keep her son safe? A highly emotional book that will keep you guessing until everything is revealed. This book will give you a book hangover and have you thinking about it long after it’s done. Definitely a must read for your TBR list!

Not Good. This one is very bad. I don’t think Nicholas Sparks cares anymore. It’s like he has a contract for a certain number of books and he’s just churning out complete crap.

Nicholas has done it AGAIN !. Absolutely amazing , couldn’t put it down ….. reels you in to the very last page

Worst Sparks book ever. I’m a big fan. Have every one of his hardcover books in my library. But this one? The descriptions of clothing, food prep, social media, the music business, as well as mental and physical health issues read more like they were written by a teenager. Immensely disappointed.

Good but not great. As I read this, I was getting the “Noah and Allie” feels with Colby and Morgan and the “Katie” feels with Beverly. Each page turned was a little bit disappointing but also kinda interesting to see where the storyline was headed. Took me a while to read this. I typically fly through Spark’s books but this one, meh.

No wonder it’s only $2.99. Tried reading the first few paragraphs of the sample, so bored. Can’t get into this story.

Dreamland. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Only a 16 year old girl would buy this story.

Just meh.. Cheesy. Characters I never really connected with. Sparks tried too hard to relate to Gen Z

Not my favorite. I could not get into this - the audio book was so hard to follow. I’ll be passing on the remainder of this book.

Dreamland.. I hated this book. Felt like Nicholas Sparks was scatter brained when he wrote this unrealistic Romance. And for the thrill hated it. Had to DNF

Beautiful story. The first few chapters were slow catch my attention. Once we learn about Beverly, I️ was hooked and it went fast from there. Loved the ending.

Disappointing. It’s as though someone else wrote this book. Total waste of money and time.

Could you put this one down.. Was a bit surprised by this book. It was amazing as are all of Nicholas Spark’s books. I loved the new twist and turns. Excellent read.

Beautiful with a twist. Beautifully written and an enjoyable read. Fun twist to the story I didn’t see coming which made it even better. Reminded me of the feelings I had reading my all time favorite, “The Notebook”. ❤️

Dreamland is amazing!. Loved the leading into the Beverly story. Never had any idea what was really happening. I love all of Nicholas Sparks books. Keep them coming.

Worth the Read. Great Read, gives a good insight and awareness of metal health and how it develops/plays a role in real life situations And of course how love is always stronger than anything life throws your way.

Awesome read!. Love, love, love this book! Love how the story of Colby and Morgan was tied to the story of Paige! Had to get some tissues for the ending. As a North Carolina native I love reading novels based on our beautiful state! Hope to read one of my hometown of Mount Airy, one day.

An ending you will NEVER see coming!!. I love Nicholas Sparks books and movies! I was a bit thrown reading this one because there are 2 stories going on and I couldn’t see how they were connected! Sparks has done this before in previous novels but this was different. When I got to the end, TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Loved the book!. I really loved this book, it really kept me spellbound to the very end. Thank you Nicholas Sparks for another great novel!

Another winner!. Wasn’t sure I was going to like this, then all of a sudden it clicked and couldn’t put it down. Good read, as usual for Sparks.

Not a fan… :(. This was a sub par book. I personally loved the musical references being a professional musician and music teacher but the storyline and plot I had a difficult time getting into. I was disappointed overall with this book. I have also found that Sparks novels over the past years just aren’t as quality and enjoyable as his original and older stories. I certainly hope he can do better going forward.
