Exciting and Suspenseful. This was so full of twists and turns. The false leads and pivots made this hard to stop reading.

Super!. Tension, skill, twists and turns, surprises, close calls...this was a very exciting read. There were a few typos but I look forward to reading more by this author. I highly recommend it!

Save Me. Katie Winter returns to the frozen north when bodies are found on the border of Canada and New York. Fighting her own bad memories of loss in that area, she joins her new partner in trying to find the killer before another young woman catches his eye. With every body they discover, the partners find their desire to capture a killer growing. I wanted to like this book more. The story intrigued me, and I was as anxious as the detectives to see the killer caught. However, this book could have benefited from more editing. Many words were left out of sentences that forced me to reread and guess at the author’s meaning. It also felt like LeBlanc and Winter reviewed their feelings about working with each other at the beginning of every chapter which got tedious.

Interesting but geographically impossible. I am always on the search for a new series and decided to try this on the free list. It started out terrific and I thought, “Yay! I found a winner!” However as a 30+ year resident of the Upper Peninsula (located in MI), I was struggling to read further as it isn’t anywhere near Lake Ontario and the whole setting was ruined for me. The U.P. Is bordered by three of the Great Lakes and none of them are Lake Ontario.

Well Written. I generally read romance novel but tried this because it was free. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read book 2. I will also be checking out other books by this author.

Not an ounce of suspense. This was such a pedestrian story. I kept hoping to find a suspenseful moment but never did. The victims were announced ahead of time, and each was murdered in the same way, followed by the story virtually repeating what had come before. Very little character development. Disappointing and dull.

Cool. Great story for sure

Predictable. We read this together and stopped during episodes to discuss the plausible scenarios that would have been more believable

Good but procedural errors. The book was good overall but my only issue is that everyone knows that once a suspect asks for an attorney, anything they say is inadmissible in court . It’s very unlikely that a highly trained FBI agent would continue to question a perp after he demanded a lawyer . That scene kinda ruined the whole image for me honestly.

Suspenseful. This book was extremely entertaining and exciting.

Good story!. The action was fast moving and kept you guessing. There were a number of red herrings that made the reader think the bad guy had been identified but then he would appear again. And the territory and weather were interesting parts of the story as well. Good team work to catch him finally. Good story!

Fantastic. I couldn’t put it down until the end. The characters were fantastic and the story was interesting and full of suspense. Great read.

Serial killer aain. Set near Toronto on the Great Lake, childhood trauma has sent a man into full blown psychopathy killing young Blond women. Our heroine catches him!

Help me. Easy reading. Hard to put down

Pleasant read. Interesting character Katie. The setting of frozen lakes and snowstorms is something I’m not familiar with and probably attracted me to the book in the first place. Book itself was not something you haven’t read before. It’s good an pleasant read for if like me you enjoy police procedurals. I haven’t decided if I’m interested in reading the series and how Katie tackles her unresolved conflicts and where the relationship with her new partner will go.

Save me. A good story… Thought provoking… But will not give you nightmares.

Book just stopped working. I was reading this book and getting into the story when I got to somewhere around chapter 15 or so and the book just stopped working and won’t let me finish it 🙁

Page turner. Couldn’t put this book down. Katie and Leblanc are a powerful team once they look past their egos. A little more consistency required in terminology used throughout this book.

Save me. I live in area where the story takes place. This makes a story more real. It’s exiting and scary

Save me. Writer needed to look at a map to understand where the different cities are located. Toronto Ontario to Watertown NY is about a five hour drive, not one as stated in the book. Other geographical errors make the story almost unreadable.

Save me.. I hate it when authors don’t get their geography correct. I’m from Toronto. Toronto area is being described as Arctic and barren of trees. This is ludicrous. Come on. Is New York or Buffalo the Arctic or barren of trees. !!!! Or how about the 1 hr drive from Toronto to Watertown. It takes an hour to get out it T.O. At the end Samantha had her phone in her purse but in backseat?? Who does that. Not to mention wearing a light fall jacket during a winter blizzard. Book had some good spots and potential. But serious mistakes like the tires on the skidoo??? Or did you hear a speedboat or skidoo? Lake Ontario does not freeze over. The author should know this and much more.
