This Could Be Us. Okay, I can see why everybody enjoyed the book. I thought it was great! It was a great book to end/start my year. (I finished it on January 1st but began it during the last week of December if anybody cares lol) I’ll start by saying this book is a slow burn. It is centered around a couple who goes through a divorce after experiencing a few life blows. Will they end up back together? Who knows. Kennedy handles the topics of grief and depression so well and depicts it perfectly. I also loved how she took her time to develop the characters. It made the slow burn worth it and allowed me to see some of the character’s dynamics through a different perspective. If you are an emotional being like me, this book will surely pull at your heart strings. Kennedy does a great job at taking you through a series of highs and lows. She also builds the characters in such a way that makes you have a strong emotional connection to them. I’m looking forward to This Could Be Us!

A second chance storyline that is everything!. Wow! What a phenomenal read! This second chance storyline will put you through a gamut of emotions. All the feels and chemistry so hot, you won’t be able to put this one down. Yasmen and Josiah’s journey isn’t without heartbreak and you can’t help but root for them. Kennedy Ryan’s writing style is so poetic and descriptive that if feels like you are experiencing the story along with the characters. A must read.

OH MY GOODNESS. Ughhhhh. So upset I read it so quick. I read this book in one night (maybe 6-7 hours). No pauses or anything. It’s so amazing. The details and the back and forth point of views made it so much more easier to get deeply involved 🤭. I felt as I were both characters and I absolutely loved it. * also just read it again this time over a longer span.. love it even more when I paid more attention and could just think and reflect on it *

Amazing. I haven’t cried this much reading a book in such a long time. This was such a heartbreaking journey but also so hopeful. From the start I didn’t want to put this down. It’s been some time since I’ve read a book by Kennedy Ryan but this story reminded why I love her writing so much. I felt every single thing that these characters felt and was immediately connected to the whole family.

Don’t believe the hype. This is a good book. However, you have to get through the first chapters before it gets interesting. This book was predictable as you continue to read but overall it was good I had to finish.

Riveting. Built off unfinished business, a reminder to sort out all faults in life. Kennedy Ryan has me enamored with the characters and the story.

It also touches on so many topics (pregnancy, therapy, depression, etc) in ways that are so sensitive to the topics but informs the reader of so much. Obsessed with every character too. Love Wins. This was an excellent story about how hard it can be to love and lose. Josiah and Yasmen built a life together and a thriving business, but in the midst of building their lives together, they suffered great tragedies that cost them almost everything, including their sanity. I liked how the book was told from both of their perspectives. It really showcases how differently people think and react when they are faced with life changing things. This book also covers the importance of therapy, particularly in the lives of Black Americans, who in the past, felt like therapy was not necessary. This is a love story and you will find yourself rooting for this couple to win at love.

Art imitating life ish. Beautifully written, thoughtful, descriptive, and gives so much hope to women whose relationships were torn apart through grief. I loved every moment.
