Well worth the wait and everything I had hoped it to be…. Lovely end to the series with each character’s story arc tied up nicely. I’m truly going to miss Kasia, Alexei, Malach, Nikola and co. I’ll definitely be reading the prequel, which I believe is in the works.

Good book to end a great series. As I said for the previous books in this series: I finished all four books in this series in about a week. I loved the world-building, the characters, the plotting, and especially how almost no characters are clearly right or wrong, just people with different personalities, motivations, beliefs, etc. However this was my least favorite book in the series, as I felt that some things were so glaringly obvious that I didn’t understand how the characters took so long to figure them out, whereas other things that I personally would have considered important ended up so peripheral in the writing that they literally happened out of sight with the reader simply hearing a quick summary later by one of the characters or never hearing anything about what happened at all. There were also some loose ends left at the end - some things that we never got explanations for or never learned exactly what had happened. I don’t know if she is perhaps saving some of these things for the prequel that she ends the book saying she is writing, even though some of the things are about characters in this world, not the prequel world. Anyway, regardless of this being my least favorite book out of the four, I definitely think you should read it, as a book with some problems in this series is still better than most other books out there. Plus the scenes with the Blessed are amazing.
