Movie v. Book. I had already watched the movie several times and loved it. I had really high expectations for this book since I loved the movie and I was not let down. I was crying a lot during different points of the book and I loved it.

Bravo Nicholas Sparks!. Best book I've ever read!! Quite honestly a tear jerker at more than one moment. Sparks does a great job telling this love story of what happens when things don't go as planned and lovers don't always end up together in the end.

Very good. This book was very good, really liked the plot and how the story was written. but wth is up with the ending?

Touching story. Read the book and loved every part of it and the end brought tears to my eyes, the movie is so different maybe I liked the way Spaks developed the characters Alot more then the movie did. You Gotta read it, specially if you have a special some one in the military <3

Best Book I've Ever Read. This book truly consists of everything an amazing book needs. The connection to the characters, the multiple plot twists, the heart wrenching story lines, the romance, the beautifully written narration & dialogue all intertwine to make this book one you simply cannot put down. This is truly by far the best book I have ever experienced.

Book is amazing compared to the movie. I read this book in 3 days. The connection between John and savannah is strong you can't help but love them together. Johns relationship with his father brought me to tears. If you saw the movie it does not do this book justice. The book is wonderful!

Amazing. I loved this book it was the first book I ever read that was by Nicholas Sparks he is now my favorite author. I would recommend this book to anybody who wants to read a good love story. It was so amazing I read it in one day and just couldn't stop reading. It is worth the $8.00

Great book!. The novels by Nicholas Sparks are by far some of my most favorite books. In Dear John I was always being grabbed in and was always wondering what would happen next. I loved the story line of it as well. Different than most romantic novels. Great book!

Amazing...but sad. Amazing book, read it in less than 24 hours and it takes a really great book to hold my interest that much. Like others have said, I wish it had a happier ending.

This book was absolutely AMAZING!!(: I read ALL of it in one night!I could not put it down.I read it in the bathtub,while I was eating,before bed,then I was done with it.I am only 15 and this was a great book!I went and saw the movie in theaters the night it came out.it was a really good movie so I decided to read the book.the book was so much better than the movie because the movie kinda dragged on a lil bit.well I thought that I would just share this with everyone. I would recommend you to read the book then watch the movie.it kinda kelps you I think!(:

UNBELIEVABLE.. I started off reading this book because of a book report had to so and with no interest in romance stories. As I read from page to page I was instantly hooked into this book. I couldn't get out of it I finished the whole book in one day. I even cried, it teaches you love can be truly that real. I have to say, this is the best book I have ever read. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

Dear John. The ending of the book and movie version are very different. Indeed a very heart felt and sometimes tear jerky story.

Dear John. This book brings back a lot of memories for me for I went through something of the same thing in life with the exception of the cancer. My first partner left me while he was in Iraq and that was the hardest day of my life and it has been 6 years or so now and I still replay that day in my mind and what I could do to change it. Great book, I would recommend it to anyone..

Best book EVER. I'm 12 and I loved loved loved this book. I am very mature so I understood the writing and plot. Who's book made me bawl my eyes out, laugh, and smile. I read it in only 2 days and have never loved a book more. The ending made me so upset but I am happy it ended that way because it shows not everything is a happy ending... That's reality and I'm kinda glad it wasn't a happily ever after. I love this book and will read it over and over again.

Boring.. It was slow and boring, at the end i started sobbing, not the end i wanted at all. I didnt cry because it moved me, it just plain pissed me off. It started out fantastic but progressivly became boring.

Dear John. What's with the author's name inserted randomly every few pages? I think it's an ibook issue but can't find help for it. VERY annoying!

A beautiful story, better told in movie form. I picked this book up after watching the movie multiple times and loving it. I read all 268 pages of it in one night, loving each moment John and savannah were together. I did enjoy the book, however not as much as I enjoyed the movie. The relationship and romance was more real in the movie, and I felt as if I knew John even more in the movie, which is odd, since books are normally much more in depth character wise. This book is certainly worth reading however - and will leave you aching for John till the very last page.

Romantic at its best. I cried and just fell in love

Very good. This books is one of the best of Nicolas S. The part of him reading the letter with his dad in the hospital and when he was all alone in the funeral broke me, and never cry! I don't get why the movie was soo different and it didn't have the feeling of the book! What a waste of good book! Read it is 100 times better than the movie!

Great book!. This book has a great love story! Also makes you realize how special people are and life is too short! It was kind of a slow read but a good one! The book is way better than the movie.
