Caitlin has Asperger's. The world according to her is black and white; anything in between is confusing. Before, when things got confusing, Caitlin went to her older brother, Devon, for help. But Devon was killed in a school shooting, and Caitlin's dad is so distraught that he is just not helpful. Caitlin wants everything to go back to the way things were, but she doesn't know how to do that. Then she comes across the word closure--and she realizes this is what she needs. And in her search for it, Caitlin discovers that the world may not be so black and white after all.

💲💲💲. Why so pricy?? The paper back book was only $5.99! On the iPhone things are supposed to be convenient! If I could just go to Barnes and noble and get the thing for less I would!! Otherwise, it is a good book.

Amazing. One of the best book I have ever read .

Great.. This book gave me so many feels, and I can relate to Caitlin so much. It's so heartbreaking at some points, but this is a very good book to read.

awful book. This was a horrific book with no suspense or action. Just another book out there with nothing special about. I honestly don't see what others see in it.

Super Good Book. Im a 6th grader, and this book has inspired me to respect people with disabilities and know that they are different, but they are trying to be normal... She was always "Trying to get it"

Mockingbird. I love that book it is one of the best books I have ever read my friend showed it to me she thinks it's a great book to.

“Mockingbird” is a Refreshing, Wonderful Book for Both the Young and Old. I don’t write reviews for books too often, but I felt compelled to for this one as a result of how relevant it felt to me. I love stories about humanist topics when they are portrayed with poignant sensitivity and insightful poetry, which is what “Mockingbird” absolutely does beautifully. This is a book that I read in Middle School and wanted to revisit as an adult. Not only do I appreciate it considerably more, but as a person who has been trying to learn how to live life with Asperger's Syndrome, I felt aching compassion for Caitlin and her struggles. Portraying people with Aspergers or Autism requires a very mature understanding of how to authentically define them as a person, and this novel gives an honest but also very respectful characterization of our lead. We are given a delicate perception of the flaws which make Caitlyn human, but that does not take away from what is so endearing and soulful about her as a person. This is somebody who has a lot to learn, but so do the other characters, as well as us. As we observe her inclinations towards trying to understand others, the world around her, and herself, we see an affecting side to her that reminds us that disability or not, she is just like us, and she wins our hearts as a result. The other characters which surround Caitlyn prove to be equally compelling, notably her grief-stricken, sorrowful father, her sweet, affable younger friend Michael, the angsty-yet-understandable school bully Josh, and her marvelously perspicacious and judicious school counselor. There were parts of this novel that were rather difficult to digest in regards to its subject matter, but I was always with the characters and appreciated the tender and vulnerable nature of the story. The author, Katherine Erskine, also finds an appropriate balance of somber confrontation with wholesome encouragement, with eloquent symbolism that adds further depth to the complexity of Caitlyn’s character and her view of the world. I was left with a really good feeling after reading this book. It confronted heavy difficulties which rang true to me, yet offered insight into how you can adopt a constructive approach to work with what life throws at you. It left me thinking a lot about my own life, as well as how others perceive the world outside of my knowledge. I loved it, and I’ll definitely be holding onto the wonderful characters and the graceful execution of the messages in my heart for the time which lies ahead of me.

Insightful. Insightful read, drawing attention to two very current topics. I so enjoyed each of the characters as they fleshed out of the book. I wish every student and teacher would read this one. We would then see the need to get to know someone before passing judgement.

James Be. Awesome

Beautifully touching story. Mockingbird is told in the point of view of a child with Asperger’s, Caitlin; as she shares daily her struggles to give readers a better understanding of Asperger’s. In addition, she is dealing with the death of her older brother, Devon; with whom she had a very close relationship. He was killed in a school shooting, which has the community grieving along with Caitlin, and her father. This is a beautifully touching story about love, loss, grief and closure; brilliantly written to bring readers into the story, while educating them on the symptoms of Asperger’s. It touches on the anxiety, literal understanding, and social struggles of children with Asperger’s, in an easy to understand and, at times, funny way. I loved Caitlin and how she viewed the world around her. I recommend this book to readers of all ages. I enjoyed Mockingbird and appreciated that I could listen to it with my 10 year old daughter in the car; as a plus, she loved the story too....Beth

Mockingbird. My absolute favorite book. I have literally read it at least 4 times. If you are looking for a book to read with your child this would definitely be great for 9-11 year olds. Also great by yourself too.

Mockingbird (mok'ing-burd). I read this book at school for a book club! It was a wonderful book and also gave a look into a character with Asperger's. It was also sad and at some moments, hilarious.

I love this book. I pick up this book everyday and go to my favorite parts in the book. I can relate to Catlin so much and it makes me want to change myself knowing that if Catlin can improve herself I can do it too. Thank you Kathryn Erskine for writing this book! 😍

Mockingbird. It took me a little while to warm up to the main character, but once I did, I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me how difficult it can be for ANY of us who have had to recover from a traumatic experience to find closure.

Great insight. This is a great book with a lot of insight into the main characters perspective. If all children would take the time to read this book, I bet there would be a lot less bullying going on in our schools.

it was great 🤩.. 💛.

10/10 would recommend. Great book that hits you in the feels. Quite easy but defiantly worth it.

Mockingbird. If you like sad books with happy endings...this is the book for you. This book is very touching yet confusing. The characters had different ways of expressing themselves. Caitlin is kind in different ways, in ways you wound not expect. This is a great MCBA book. I do not recommend this book if you can't handle sad things.

Such a beautiful story!. When I first started reading this book, it seemed really interesting, and I'm glad I never put it down. It's such a beautiful story and it made me think of the world differently. I recommend it to any age group because of its inspiration and humor it can give you. Love this book. I really love this book! I reacamend this book for people who are having a hard time in life cause you could have a lot wores like someone dying in your family. Its great!

Awesome. This book in so inspiring. Its bound to make someone look at like differently.

great. had to read this book for school but ended being a really good book 5 stars definitely recommend

JorgeTheKID's review. The book starts off smart by having an already dead character that we know nothing about present. Because we know nothing about him we can't feel for him emotionally but as Caitlin explains how nice her brother is readers can then care for Devon a little bit more. Near the ending I felt like a lot of things didn't need to happen like the gym teacher part or the character of Emma sorta. The ending leaves you a little bit curious to read about what can happen next but this is a great book. Definitely on my top 3 favorite books that I have read. I give it 4.5/5 stars

Mocking bird !!. I love this book it's one of my favorites (:

Haters... .__.. Why all the hate? If you don't like the book, then don't download it or comment. I get really annoyed when people do crap like this. But, anyway, I love this book! <3 Very beautiful. Pfft, haters...

Best. Best book ever i Luv it!
