Great Book. I've always loved the show. Now I'm trying the books and even though this was only loosely based on the show it was still an awesome read and I look forward to reading them all.

Great!. I read it on my iPhone which I thought would be a problem but the format wasn't overwhelming at all. It was super easy to follow and a great read all together! I can't wait to read the rest.

Wonderful.. Couldnt put my phone down! It definitely helps get over the 150+ days left until the show resumes. I was pleasantly surprised how close the book and the show were. With the exception of Tara, of course. I simply loved it. Cannot wait to start book two.

Too bloody and dark. I was excited to start reading these new series of books hoping for some complicated and interesting plot. Unfortunately, I found dragging myself to finish the first book. I found it too bloody and dark. I finally managed to get to the end of it, but I am not looking forward to reading any more in this series. I moved on.

Great book. Great book with a few grammatical errors here and there but all in all a great story and if you haven't read it I strongly encourage it. Though if your wanting to watch the tv show as well, it follows the book to a point

Favorite Series. You know you're starting on a great book when on the first page, the author tells you that vampires have "come out of the coffin". Absolutely wonderful series. Book 4 is my favorite. I'm team Eric!

Dead Until Dark. Loved this book! Read it in two days. I have only read Anne Rice novels on vampires, but Charlaine Harris does a superb job. Southern charm and humor mixed with murder and hot vampires. Who could ask for more? But you get more. Mind reader and shape shifter. Lol. Great book !

Ok read. A little slow to get started, but an okay read.

Showbie reads first book. After grieving the loss of True Blood for its 9 month hiatus, I decided to see if reading at least one of the Sookie Stackhouse books would take the edge off my suffering : ). I was very pleasantly surprised when I found myself on page 332, the last page of the book, 4 days after purchasing it. I must say, the books (or at least the 1st book) are as addictive as the show. Though the story lines in the book and in the show are really only loosely related, I felt I had an advantage having watched the show before i began reading the books. Although, Sookie Stackhouse is the central protagonist on the show, she is the lifeblood, no pun intended, in this book. She does a beautiful job, single handedly, bringing all the other characters to life. I highly recommend this book to all "Showbies" who need their Sookie fix over these long months ahead of us...On to book 2!!!

The Best. I really enjoyed reading this book, after a colleague recommended it. I'm now doing the same, if you are a True Blood fan like myself then you would enjoy reading this as much as I have. I'm about to download the second book to this series " living Dead in Dallas" I believe is the title. I would have finished this book much sooner, hadn't relatives. from North Carolina came up to visit and I entertaining them. Bust soon as they left it was on and popping. Kudos to the author Charlene Harris, can't wait to to start reading much much more from her.

An amazing series. My sister is the one who suggested these books to me. I'm so happy she did!! This is such a wonderful series. Charlaine Harris is an amazingly talented writer. All the characters she created are so great. Pam and Eric are definitely a favorite!! I don't want to see Sookie's story come to an end.

It was ok. Dead Until Dark is a vampire romance novel featuring a honest hard working young lady with mind reading abilities. The story is entertaining and provides multiple events to keep the reader or listener engaged. The characters are likable and relatable. This was a decent start to a series.

I can't believe this got published!. I love the True Blood series. I thought I would try the books to help with my withdrawal. As I read, I couldn't believe how poorly written this book was. The sentence structure is simple and poorly thought out. I fel that this was written for middle schoolers rather than adults.
