Love this book. Great book with a surprising ending which is why I love Dean Koontz’s books. And his afterword is as interesting and entertaining has his book. I am a fan for life.

Lost interest half way through. Too wordy without to fill pages.

Great Suspense & Mystery Novel. Despite what you may have read from the prior review by Dbr3, this is a great novel; one of Koontz's best stories! It involves a man who mysteriously acquires the ability to tell when another's person's life is in danger. And it also involves a female reporter who investigates him. The following is from the book jacket: "In Portland, he saved a young boy from a drunk driver. In Boston, he rescued a child from an underground explosion. In Houston, he disarmed a man who was trying to shoot his own wife. Reporter Holly Thorne was intrigued by this strange quiet savior named Jim Ironheart. She was even falling in love with him. But what power compelled an ordinary man to save twelve lives in three months? What visions haunted his dreams? And why did he whisper in his sleep: 'There is an Enemy. It is coming. It’ll kill us all…? '"

So bad I couldn’t finish.. The book started off interesting. Then about plane crash time, it lost me. Boring, redundant, frustrating characters and turning philosophical and religious instead of a mystery, I couldn’t put up with it any longer. Now I know why the book casts $1.99.

Really?. I can’t believe Dean Koontz wrote this…the worst. Bailed halfway through. Can I please get a refund?

Cold Fire. It’s a scattered story with a lot of really unbelievable plot twists.

Super good. Loved this book and if u love DK you need to read this story.

Cold Fire iil. Great book. A little different style of writing for Koontz but this book is a page turner that you will devour. Enjoyed the afterward. I agree with Koontz that if made into a movie that evil aliens should not come out of the pond but should consider evil golden retrievers since he left this dog out of his story. The dogs could then evolve into super heroes and save the world at Jim’s direction. No need to thank me Dean! 😆

Another creepy concoction from Dean Koontz!. Cold Fire has everything a good book needs: horror, mystery, suspense, imagination, appealing protagonists, humor, and romance! It also has Koontz’s signature: unbeatable storytelling! How does Jim Ironheart show up anywhere in America, just in times to save someone, anyone, from young children to total strangers, from certain death, attractive reporter Holly Thorn wants to know. He says that while he sleeps, a voice tells him to, even explaining exactly where the tragedy will occur, and at exactly what time. It sounds like a message from God, literally, a miracle from God. Another question Holly has: Why him? Jim doesn’t have the answer. But, as Holly finds herself falling for Jim, the mystery will take a darker turn. One night in her motel room, Holly is horrified when something attacks her, something that is not just supernatural, but also demonic! Suddenly, she and Jim find themselves even more determined to solve the mystery, not only to find out if Jim really has been enlisted by God for his extraordinary mission, but also because their lives—and maybe even their souls—depend on it. This is one of Koontz’s most spiritual books, but it’s probably also one of his scariest! If you’re a fan of mystery and suspense, it’s well worth the read! The same is true for horror fans, whether or not you are a fan of religious horror stories or stories about demonic possession! Another keeper from this fabulous storyteller!

Cold Fire Just cold. I am a Dean Koontz fan. I have enjoyed every one of his books except this one. COD- romance novel dialog and contrived characters. Did Mr. Koontz loan out his name to someone else?

Odd Thomas. Too much like Dean’s Odd Thomas series of 20 years ago, but not as entertaining.

Great story. Classic Koontz. Terrifying and tender. I loved it‼️
