Favorite. This was my mother’s favorite book and miniseries, so it reminds me of her and holds a special place in my heart. An amazing story-

read it 20 odd years ago. and I still remember how much I loved it. never saw the movie. it was intense and heartbreaking. seldom do you remember a book 20 years later.

I paid nine dollars for this?. Gave five stars because the poor author has passed away, and it was a good occupation of time, for nine dollars…I guess. I’m sure there are people out there who need to read this book so that they could get the lesson out of it. And it has a great lesson in it, and I won’t spoil it for you. But darn, if I wanted to hear a story about how religion ruined a bunch of people’s lives, I could have just caught the bus down to any local church in existence and heard a hundred “The Thornbirds”, type stories. Anyway, the author is a fantastic writer…and that’s to be expected from a neuroscientist (they know a thing or two about how to entertain a human brain). That being said, maybe the Thornbirds just wasn’t for me…but I’ll consider picking up one her other titles.

The Thorn Birds. I loved this book! I had read it when it first came out, enjoyed it as much or more than I did the first time. I will definitely read more of this author’s books.

Thorn birds. ?!. From the moment I opened it I could not put it down. I fell in love with the characters the story line and was able to be instantly transported to that specific time period. The author makes it easy for the reader to create vivid mental imagery while reading!it is a very rare and difficult to do in the world of writing. This book is very well written and thought out. I enjoyed the ride so much when it was over I decided to read it again !! I was more attracted to the story after learning that I was named after meggie. And her character represents everything I wish to be. Courageous bold and strong. ! She had to be in order to go through all the pain and hardships she experienced through out her life. What she stands for and represents truly resonates with who I am as a person. This book is a definite must have ! I remember being so engulfed and consumed by the book I missed my stop on the train quite a few times. I also was asked about the book by other commuters who took an interest or recognized it from their past! It’s an amazing story. Though there are times of pain hurt and sorrow there are also times of joy and happiness ! I love how many multiple lessons and morals are learned as well from the first page to the last. That could explain why this author writes types of books I can’t get enough of. If you haven’t already purchased it I highly recommend you do. Once you begin reading this you’ll crave more ! It’s never left my book shelf. It’s a story that should be part of everyone’s collection. Simply a treasure xo

Satisfying/frustrating epic. Surprisingly good. A classic.

A great title, showing that even love, like roses, have thorns.. I loved this book so much and hated that it ended as I hungered for more. I now intend reading “Bittersweet”, expecting to be as engrossed in this book as I was in “Thornbirds”. Great author, you were, Colleen McCullough.

GranMarx. I read The Thorn Birds soon after it was first released, and having found it as an ebook I decided to reread it, and I am very glad I did. I enjoyed it far more this time around. Those extra years of maturity on my part brought it all to life in a way if didn't when I was a younger woman with less life experience. An exceptional read with immense insight into real life and emotions.

The Thorn Birds. This is one of my favorite books...it throws you into a world and the lives of people you may not have otherwise had the pleasure and sadness of knowing. I have read it and reread it at different times in my life. Each time I see something I had missed previously and each time I grow to appreciate and care for a character that I hadn't the time before. I read the book for the first time in my late teens and just read it again at the age of 51...it seems to grow old with me. I know this won't be the last time I read this book and find that I'm already looking forward to who I will "meet" and learn more about the next time through because as I do I have always found and expect to continue to find a piece of myself as well.

Thorn Birds. This story is one of my favorites of all time I rate it up there with Gone With The Wind , Sound of Music ,Dr Zhivago I re read this and watch the movie over and over again Great story. Thank you
