Romantic. It was nice to embrace the idea of love at first sight and Quinn told it beautifully. Robert is a great character and love for Victoria made this a fun book to read.

My new all time favorite!. The story is touching and also had me laughing out loud. Although there are times where both of the characters are frustrating, their actions are understandable and it does not make them unlikeable.

Annoying female lead. I love all your books, but this one was hard to finish by the stubborn female lead. I understand if she is was difficult for a valid reason but good god, she was so mean and bitter toward him for no good reason. I tried to ignore it and then it get repetitive to the point I was mad at her.

Ghostwriter. This book must have been written by a ghostwriter. The sentence structure/style is not on par with a usual Quinn novel. It lacks the usual humor/wit.

Boring characters. Hard to believe this is a Quinn book.

I wasn’t expecting to like it this much. This book is full of tropes I’m usually not a fan of, but Julia Quinn’s wit and charm and talent as an author managed to make this story really good, even for someone who doesn’t like these particular romance tropes, the book is really strong in the first half and has a really strong ending, it drags a little in the second half, but is still relatively enjoyable. Overall a really good book, will be reading again.
