Great book. Started out weird but it pulled it together. Started to develop the characters midway thru. Once you hit midway you will love the book!

Hardcore Scifi at It's Best. A credible application of real-world physics to carrier based spacecraft warfare as Navy pilots fight for the survival of the human race against an enigmatic implacable alien foe. The battle rages a lttle too close to home as the enemy attacks the sol system with the intent of exterminating man. The novel re-introduces the concept of the technologic singularity and man's proximity to it as the reason man must die. A worthwile, well-thought, and entertaining read.

Good hard sci-fi space battles... But we could have done without the anti Islamic sub plot.

Great Read!. I couldn't put it down. Waiting for the sequel.

What imagination. Ian, the author, has an incredible world created with today's technological wonders and science discoveries extrapolated into a future that is both fascinating and terrifying. There is also the addition of myths extracted from common stories of human civilization influenced by extra terrestrials. The mixture creates an incredible manage of details, intricate events, subplots and human and alien roles that seem all that plausible because some how you can relate so closely with the characters. Add some adrenalin by using the images of dedicated soldiers and enemies experiencing battles, and you get a book that keeps you enthralled. You know the book is good when you lament you've read the ending. The good news is of course that this book, as part of a series, is only a segment of future history embedded in between many more. Be warned, one book from this series is not enough. Choose carefully from which book you want to start this incredible journey of imagination, amazement, and just plain fun.

Mil SciFi Fan. Overall, an excellent trilogy. My only complaint is the author gets redundant in explaining some of the technology.

Great Military Sci Fi Action. Hard core military syfy action from the first page! Douglas wastes no time in getting you in close action at both fleet and fighter levels. A good fun fast read. Well done!
