a cool book. got this book for summer reading.. its awesome!!!!

My new favorite book!. This was the only book that I've read that I could relate to and feel emotional. I couldn't help the imagination going through my mind as I read it. It felt as I could picture and almost feel the characters. I think this is a fantastic book that everyone should read at least once.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. Wow. This book, although something I admittedly did not pick out myself, was a great read and I'm already reading it for a third time. I was assigned this book the winter break of my freshmen year and although I loathed my teacher assigning me reading assignments, this book was worth all that time spent.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Beautiful story that's a must read for Brooklyn lovers.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. Beautiful, I missed the characters dearly when I was done reading.

Still beautiful after all these years. I first read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn when I was a young girl like the story’s heroine, Francie, and it was one of my favorite books. Yesterday I turned 60, and it’s still wonderful. A page turner, a joy to read, fascinating for the detail of what it was like to live in Brooklyn in 1916 and thereabouts. Betty Smith is so honest with sordid details, the book is fascinating because it doesn’t lie. Yet it’s written with a warm optimism so it doesn’t depress you. A+.

A great slice of time. This is a book describes growing up in the 1910’s. The family and their ways of coping in challenging times was fascinating. What strong characters were built in trials and turbulent times , we could all learn from.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I have loved this book for years. I first read it when I was about 13. In high school, I wrote my autobiography while in the 10th grade. The only thing I remembered writing was the fact that this book was my favorite. This book was very well written, I have read it several times over the years, bought about three copies. I saw some of the movie recently which made me long to read it again. I can't explain why this book touches my soul. I guess I relate to Francie somehow.

Slow start but worth it. The beginning of the story was hard to read , boring and seemed as if it was going nowhere. About 20 pages in I had to google reviews and a lot of people felt the same way I did. Stuck on the F train I decided to give it a second chance . At the end I appreciated her details of how New York was in the 1900’s and grew to love the characters. Don’t give up and keep reading to the end !

My favorite book!. The best, this and To Kill A Mockingbird. Amazing storyline. I love following the lives of certain people. It's my favorite type of subject matter. I recommend this book if you enjoy going into the private lives of family members and a girl growing up with her brother in the early 1900s. It gives you a great sense of satisfaction when you're done reading this book. I can't say there'll be a suspenseful ending. It really isn't surprising. It's a very true seeming story and the ending is really quite life-like. Read it! You will not regret it. :)

Great Book. This is priced way too high.

Excellent story and very well written. I am going to miss Francis and her family. Read it!

Classic. Classic! Life story of a girl who finds a way to deal with family problems and poverty . She learns to appreciate people’s qualities while realizing they have flaws. She also finds a way to use her own strengths to overcome.

Amazing. I had my doubts but as soon as I started it I could not put it down! Loved it!!

Family Reading. What a wonderful story. Every preteen, teenager, and parent should read this book. How insightful in the ways of family life, coming of age, and the realization of life's changes. This book should be read and discussed by parents and children, it is a good conversation starter into the truths of life.

Great Book!. This is a masterfully written book about humility, love, patience and triumph. Definitely a book that I will read again and again.

Finally Found Favorite!. I never have an answer when asked, “What is your favorite book?” So many great books. I can’t find the words to articulate why but I can honestly answer next time, “My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.”

Is it really that good?. I'm not sure if I wanna read it because I'm not into older books. Is it really worth it?

Amazing. This has been my favorite book since 5th grade. I'm a junior now. Such a great read. It makes you want to go back in time.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. One of the best I've ever read. I first read it before my teens, and a few times since. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal!!!. I was assigned to read this book in the 6th grade, and assumed that it would be a tedious and dull book, and was totally mistaken. I couldn't put the book down!!!! I have read this book several times and have recommended to all of my friends. Excellent.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Pretty good book. I'm glad I had to read it. I keep on wanting a sequel just to find out if Francie married sweet sweet Ben Blake. But I guess I'm just gushy like that! 😜👍

Stunning!. I read this book in grade school, now I own a copy & have a 5 month old baby who one day I hope he'll read the book too.

Price is too high!. For a very old book, the cost should be half.

Amazing!. It is truly an amazing story of a Brooklyn girl growing up in the early 1900's. It is so inspirational and heart warming.

Idiot reviews. Do not trust the 3 or below star reviews. 1 is based on price, the other on age, really? Learn to review something based on the actual item itself, in this case on the story line. Don't rate it unless you have actually read it and are commenting on how good or bad of a book it is. My favorite book, followed by The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Beautiful book!. A very poetic, tasteful book. An all time favorite!

Forever great <3. This book is a timeless classic that will never die💜

Bad. Horrible

Favorite book of all time.. I love this Bol and have read it multiple times. It never ceases to amaze me. Long I will admit but worth it.

.... I want to read this book, I already have a physical copy, but I was hoping it was free like most of the classical novels I downloaded from iBooks. I even got The Count of Monte Cristo for free and that book is freaking long! Well, anyway, I'm still gonna read it. I hope it's good.

Loved. Just finished, so good

Amazing story!!!. I have read the books every year for the last 20 years and it gets better every time. You become so in love with each character and who they are. I am so sad when I read the last page. "Good night Francie" until we meet again.

This was a great book to read. A beautiful story told thru the eyes of a young girl, takes you to a time when things were not easy, and you just got buy. You can feel the relationships of this family as this story builds. I could put this down, it will stay with me.

A tree grows in Brooklyn. Beautiful!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. A classic book everyone should read. Problems in families have not changed much over the years.
