It's J.R.Ward at her best.. I've been waiting for the story of John & Xhex for some time and they didn't let me down.

I love John Mathew. This is my favorite of the series so far. I love this story.

Good story, bad editing. I love the story as usual. I've loved all of the Brotherhood books. However, Ward's writing has gotten so sloppy It's almost unbearable to read! She tries so hard to sound chic and hip that she crams so many cliches into one paragraph that it barely makes sense. I love the story of John Matthew and Xhex, it was so sweet but as others have said Ward did step away from Xhex's character too much for her to be recognized. Also, all the plots jumping back and forth are not a good sign of thought flow. It's almost like Ward was writing this one grudgingly!! And yes they are a Goth version of the Harlequin Romance Novels!

The best story in the series. Finally we find out what happens to the ever troubled John. He has had my heart in a knot since he first appeared. He is a complex character we've only gotten bits and pieces of. Ms. Ward, you have really built him up and his story is worth it. Thanks

Loved this book. I loved this book, the story of John and Xhex is my favorite after Zsadist and Bella's. A definite read if you are a fan of the series. Can't wait to read more...especially more about Qhuinn and Blay!

Xhex and John Matthew!!! :). I was also afraid the series was losing it's magic- it lost some momentum for me with 'Lover Enshrined' but I went ahead and read 'Lover Avenged' anyway and was so glad I did cause I got back into it.. 'Lover Mine' was like 'Lover Awakened' for me. Great storyline- All the parts finally come together & make a beautiful love story!!! :) I did not expect to love this book like I did...

Lover mine. I could not put down any book in this series down from the second I started it. The sad part now is it is over, I want more!!! Thank you for your talent as a writer.

A WOW ending!. Slow to start....but the ending is worth the wait for us fans of the entire Brotherhood of the Black Dagger series! I've always liked John Matthew and it was great to get his story FINALLY told!

Harlequin Novels for goths. These stories are just romance novels for lonely goths. A acquaintance of mine tried to sell these books as something great and literary. I read less than a chapter and it reminded me of those cheap romance novels I see being read by fat slatternly, lonely girls who, rather than take the energy to improve their on lives escape into the fantasy world of someone else's. But, if you are into that sort of stuff, then this book is for you.

John M.. I'm in love. I have been waiting for this one b/c I have been a huge John m fan since he has been introduced. I love it just like every other book in this series!!!! I can say she hasn't been doing as good with the "making love" scenes as she was in the 1st few books, but I love them all still!!

Lover Mine. This book was really great, and resolved with real flair some of the mysteries surrounding Xhex, Darius, Tohr and Muhrder. I played the music mentioned in the last few pages as I read the end of the story. Perfect! Just perfect!

Excellent...but the ending???. I read this book, anticipating the journey that would finally bring these two lost souls together - John & Xhex...as with the previous books, the actual journey was nothing less than spectacular, however in the end, I didn't recognize Xhex. It's as if someone other than JR Ward wrote the ending. Again as with the other books in this series, I will re-read it at least a couple more times "-)

Not bad!. I have always had a hard time imagining John as anything but a wimpy pretrans. His and Xhex's story helped me a little to envision him as who he is. It would be nice to see if he finally realizes who he is too. I didn't get the need for the paranormal characters but I guess it filled up space. Payne was an ok addition, but I really would've liked to see the next book focus on the Brothers not her. I'll read the newest book in hopes to get more time with the rest of the brothers. This was not one of my favorites but was definitely worth the read.

Rated: OK. I was disappointed with JM's book; Xhex turned out to be someone I didn't even recognize and, having felt like I watched JM grow up, it was hard for me to see how he fell in love with her. JM didn't disappoint (thanks for that WARDen) and holds a special Brother spot in me, but the story was confusing as it focused on too many things and too many POVs; I skipped some POVs completely because it seemed so... forced and utterly irrelevant! All in all, ok but certainly should and could have been better.

Excellent!. I could not put it down. Great story. I truly enjoyed being in this fantasy. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

Lover Mine Review. Wow. Just finished Lover Mine. By far my favorite of the 8 after book 3 about Zadist. I am very anxious for the story on Payne to come out next week and hope JR Ward keeps writing about the Brothers, I am totally hooked and love the series. What fun to read and seriously, what woman doesn't want a hellren from the Black Dagger Brotherhood? I would love to see these as movies.... So fun to read and such a nice break from work related and/or self help books. Very much a treat!!!

Great ending.... The book took me a while to read because at first I was not a John fan. But I am glad I finished the book and didn't give up. It has a great ending.

Liked it but could have been better considering the previous books. Honestly loved the book like I usually do with this series but too many stories intertwining along with way too frequent sex scenes put too many breaks made me lose interest at times unlike previous books

Lover Mine...but slightly confused. Ok, so aside from the awesome love story between John and Xhex, and the little inserts to Quinn and Blaylock( which were hot and heartbreaking) what the hell happened to Darius being revealed?? Am I the only one who read the summary and description. I got his back lay story and it was good, but wasn't he returning or were we supposed to figure that him an johns mind became one because it said so which I feel is a gip! And Murhder?? I guess I'll read about him in the next book because that side story involving Greg made no sense but whatever. I'm enjoying the overall series. An to be honest I'm really passing thru now to get to Lovers at Last with Blay and Quinn!!! I can't wait

So far my favorite. This one kept me on the edge of my seat quite a few times. This books have me trapped!

Awesome!. This is a wonderful and addictive series! Not only a lot of great "sensual" writing but also a great story. I've read all of Ward's books and have never been disappointed.

Exciting. For all the people who say this book is for goth people, you are greatly frowned upon. People like different books and therefore if you didn't like this book/series then that is you're choice. Don't bother comment please. We want book reviews not opinions of who this book should be for. If you were a teenager at this point of time, you would understand why so many of these young adults are so deeply depressed and unhappy. Books are a way to escape that kind of emotion not because they like reading dark cruel books full of demons and death. If only you knew the true feelings of young adults these days. I believe this series is very moving in many aspects of emotion. Every book in this series was very fascinating and addicting. If you are a vampire romance reader, I suggest this series - Whitney M. Age 16

Best of the series. I love each book in this series, but this one is my favorite. I love how each character grows in every book even when they are not the focus. Ward has an amazing success here and it could be never ending. So many left to write still!

Had a hard time getting through this one. I think the author tried so hard to make every little thing have meaning that she lost the flow of the main love story. The story could be cut by 30% and probably be a better read. This story was ponderous.

Nope,. Ward was all over the place here and left a lot of questions unanswered and rushed the end. She leads you to believe that certain things are going to happen (Jon things) and then nope. She leaves a ton of Xhex questions unanswered and then throws some characters into the ending. Lashes character was an interesting plot line and fizzled flat n the end.

Okay but good. I agree with some of the opinions stated where there's too many other story lines going on and less about JM and Xhex. It's as if the author is trying to cram too many thing at once overwhelming the reader when some of the story lines could be saved in another series.

Too many side stories. I love John and Xhex’s story, but this book had so many other side stories going on which, for me, took away from the overall enjoyment of it. I also found all the side stories rather boring. Along with John and Xhex’s story (and not really woven into their story) there was also Wrath and Payne, Eliahu Rathborne, Greg and Holly, Blay and Saxton, Qhuinn and Layla, Darius and Tohrment. At the very end of the book, Darius and Tohrment’s story came full circle and made a connection to John and Xhex’s, but I found that portion rather long winded for the end result. I know that all the side stories will be tied into the larger picture of the series at some point, but in the end I found this book to be unsatisfying.

Sexy and intense. Great erotic twists! Mmm. Wonderful series. I've loved John's story through out!
