Great!. Im a massive Brandon sanderson fan. Read almost all of his books. This isnt his best work but its pretty good. Its nice to see him work with sci fi and try something diferent and he obviously knows what to do. Its a good filler while waiting for his next books.

Well done!. One of the best wifi short stories I have read in a long time! I hope Brandon returns to this universe someday!

What writing should be . . .. Brandon Sanderson has this amazing ability: he can bring characters to life in a way that most authors can't. When I first heard that he was taking over to complete the Wheel of Time, I have to admit that I was skeptical. Robert Jordan left some very big shoes to fill. But after experiencing the way that Sanderson handled my favorite series, I was an instant fan. I have since purchased, read, re-read, and then re-re-read all of his works. Firstborn is a masterpiece. A short, simple story that showcases all of the amazing talent that Sanderson possesses. I would love to see more SciFi from this author, but even if he wrote a pulp romance, I would probably still read it. 5 stars is not enough!!

Firstborn. A nice little read. A short book, but it had interesting twists and turned. It had a nice set of teaching points. There was an interesting subtext. There were some nice unexpected turns, all in 69 pages. Nice.

Good story. Good story, quick read worth $1

Amazing short story with a great twist. This is my first read by this author and I am very impressed. The twists came from left field and I never expected to short story to play out as it did, and when it was all done it left me deep in thought, the best way to end a story! I plan to read more from this author and at 99c, it's worth it!

Glad I got it. So Brandon Sanderson is now not only writing brilliant fiction books, but he's writing brilliant sci-fi as well. Of course it's just a short story, so it doesn't go into as much glorious detail as it could in a full-sized book, but it's also pretty cheap, so I definitely recommend.

Chilling and imaginative. First Born is both chilling and compelling. It will leave you spellbound and ready for the next.

Quick and fun. As usual, Sanderson gives us a story that is nothing like anything he has written before and still holds your attention to the end. All for just $.99!

Great short story!. I've read every book printed in paperback by Sanderson. By far!!!!, my all time favorite author. Can't wait for his next series, and the final books of "the wheel of time" to hit paperback!

Good Military Short Story. I thought it was an entertaining, quick read. I went into it with high expectations after reading Elantris and Mistborn, and was not disappointed. A good way to spend an afternoon.

Engaging, well-written SF. Enjoyable, quick read...I'm pretty picky about the quality of writing in my sci-fi, and Sanderson, as usual, remains both unpretentious and engaging, while also intelligent and creative. I didn't love Mistborn, unlike many others, but I adored Way of Kings, and this little story felt a bit more like that new series in style and substance (though about 700 pages shorter, haha!). Highly recommended.

Good short story. For $1 this was a great, though short read. I am a Sanderson fan so l am predisposed to like his work before I read it. Even so this short story lives up to my high expectations. You can also read a great short story of Brandon's for free at his website.
