Missing photos!. I like the book, but the electronic version is missing many photos that are referenced in the text. For a photography book, this a big miss.

Great tips. Missing images in iPad version. There were a lot of good tips for the beginner in this book. Good, specific advice about brands to buy or avoid in cameras, software, and accessories. The iPad book version referenced a lot of photos that were not present. I expected a lot more visual examples but this version surprisingly only had 6 or 7 photos in it.

Great book for DSLR owners. PROS: Great information for new dslr owners or people just getting into photography. I would have spent an eternity finding all this info on a thousand sites online and probably wouldn't have understood it still. The writer has a really casual no-nonsense writing style and does a good job of explaining difficult concepts in an easy way. I also liked the quick tips sections. CONS: It's missing some pictures and there are some typos. Also, there isn't a lot of extremely technical information. Definitely worth $5. That's the same price as a farting app on the iPad! J/k.

Wish I had this when I first got my camera!. Great book for beginners. I've spend the past year trying to figure this out for myself, and learned more in the first chapter than I was able to figure out on my own. He explains things in very clear and easy to understand terms. I highly recommend it.

How Budding Photographers can get Pro Results. For someone such as myself, who is just starting out, I feel that this book has covered all the basics, answered my questions and more! It's well written and easy to understand. It's really wet my appetite and given me confidence. I do feel however that there could have been more visual explanations, for example with regards image composition and the rule of thirds, something you'd expect in a photography book, also the referenced images were nowhere to be seen in most cases. I'm happy I bought the book. It's comprehensive and informative, but it could have been better illustrated with visual aids.

Excellent start!. This was an extremely useful book for beginners. I have recently taken the plunge and have moved away from simple point and shoot to the more creative opportunities that DSLR offer. If you are considering this route, read this book before you part with your hard-earned cash... You will save a fortune and end up with just what you need. I have already seen huge improvements in my photography after reading this book. It is also worth mentioning that the book is VERY readable... It is pitched at exactly then right level! I just hope that I can find another book in the somewhat limited iTunes library to move on to...
