Unbelievably great book!. I have never read a Stephen King book before, but after having watched the film Shawshank Redemption I heard of this one and had to read the book. Compared to Shawshank, you will not be disappointed. The more you read, the better the story gets. After reading this entire masterpiece of a book, I recognize that this is the most emotionally packed book I have ever read. Each chapter has you feeling sad, or happy, maybe even angry at sometimes. I have never cried at any movies or at any books, this one almost cracked me at the end. By far the best book I have read in my life.

Book was supposed to be an audiobook. I paid for an audio book, and received a different version. I’m very unhappy, and want a refund so I can purchase the ACTUAL AUDIOBOOK!! 😡 VERY UNHAPPY!!

Glad. Never saw movie, book is excellent seemed as though I had seen a screen, keep find myself rethinking character's action, kinda like a what a real good movie can do to a person. King is a master at this guess I may re-read again.

Better than the movie... I was a bit concerned that, having seen the movie many times, the book would not be entertaining. There was no need for concern. This is the best book that Mr. King has written and it was a absolute pleasure to read. Quite wonderful!

The Green Mile. As always Mr.King never disappoints. I worried that I wouldn't enjoy the book as much because I saw the movie and I usually read the book before the movie but all that worry was for naught. An excellent read.

Touching But Tragic Story. This story touches my heart at parts and scares me at others. Mr. King is an amazing author with an eye for detail feeling and understanding. This book is definitely worth the time to read. After the movie was made off this book staring Tom Hanks it made me realize how amazing this book really was. Great job ad a great read.

First Book In A While, Came Nowhere Near Disappointing.. I don’t know what I feel. I haven’t read a book in a long time. I fell in love with the movie as a child, sobbing my eyes out when John Cofeey died. Ask my dad, it’s probably the hardest he’s ever seen me cry. The tears didn’t come with the reading, those had to come from the movie. With the book came an understanding about some things though. I’ve learned so many things I might just wanna keep them to myself. But I’ll never forget, no matter how many come after, or how many came before, reading and living through this story.

The Green Mile. Best book I’ve read in a while

The green mile.....excellent book!. I am not a fan of Stephen King's books, aside from Carrie & The Green Mile I haven't read anything but the descriptions on the Faust jackets. I am so glad I read The Green Mile! It is an amazingly intricate book, written as a memoir of a death row prison guard as he looks back over his most awful, yet touching experience on the job. Exceptionally well written, getting the feel of the terrible depression and what an awful time it was just to survive those times. The way the people were desperate to keep any job that could keep them alive, and the things they had to suffer to remain living with themselves. Also the naïveté of the people, and the cruelty they perpetrated upon one another. One of the best arguments against capital punishment that I can imagine would come from the men who had to do the actual executions. Writing about those times and how the racism was so rampant will not easily be forgotten.

Amazing story. Wow, just wow. It has been a long time since I’ve cried reading a book but this is just an amazing story.

One of King's best!. I remember reading this when Stephen King was putting them out as novellas..small easy to read books that left you hanging and wanting more…I remember being at the bookstore on the release date for the next novella and blasting through it on the ride back home. This story is TOO good for ANYONE to pass over. The TV miniseries, while excellent, didn't do it justice. Buy this book, read it, laugh, cry and then read some more. This is Stephen King at his best.

Miracles. One of my favorite books of all time. Great story, sad, scary, happy and true. Stephen King tells very true to life stories in his fiction. Great Author my favorite Stephen King.

For Those Who've Always Wanted to Read King. If you've always wanted to read Stephen King, but you don't want to check under the bed every night, this is the novel. The fear King impresses in The Green Mile is not outright, but it is still ever present with each sentence. It sheds light on the true evil in the world and the war we wage against it with the Good. King uses the prison setting to show a world where good and evil coincide, and Good doesn't necessarily win out in the end.

Very good and captivating. Another King book that I couldn't put down. The only complaint I have is that nothing ever happened to that pr*ck Dolan. Man, such a disappointment there! But otherwise, very good.
