My favorite YA dystopian series. Seriously awesome stories. Even enjoyed the forth book extras (tho not as much). If your into hunger games, the reds queen, divergent, etc series then you’ll really enjoy this one. They’ve freaking sold the rights to this book to install into movie format like 15 years ago but we still have no movies yet! Arg.

Pretty Good. I enjoyed the book, and I am looking for the next one now...it's futuristic and you really have to put yourself in the Main characters shoes so you won't hate her by the end. Good luck

Series not worth finishing.... I thought it was gonna be really good, but it was pretty boring and plain stupid. I was sorta waiting for it to end the whole time and i won't be reading the other three books.

Nostalgia at it’s finest. I read this back when it was first published, and I have to say after rereading it, it’s just as fantastic as the first time!

Great. This is a great book. I have read it again and again and again.

Never gets old. Couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve read this book, but it’s timeless. I think I read it a few times a year. This book truly transports you into its world and you really feel as though you’re seeing it and seeing Tally for who she is. Amazing.

Horrible. One of the worst books I have ever read. I have read a lot of great dystopian novels, so I had a lot of hope for this book. Found it in my teacher's class (and my teacher has great taste) so I began reading, but this author had horrible dialogue and I just didn't connect with the story or characters the way I did with other trilogies (The Hunger Games, Divergent, Delirium, etc). I have nothing against the author, but I suggest making a more interesting story that your readers will enjoy reading. It really wasn't terrible, but I have definitely read better. But if someone out there is reading this right now and thinking that this is a bad book, don't let my review stop you from reading this book. We all have different tastes.

Anger?. I had to read this in class and I don't know why but this book makes me so angry and frustrated. I think it's Tally. The main character. I think she has to many FWP. She is somehow to white in my mind. And it's infuriating.

Awesome!. This book had short chapters, making it a little easier to read for someone who has ADHD :D also it was very intriguing and hard to put down, overall I really liked it!

One of my favorite books!!!. I love Uglies for many reasons and one of my favorite reasons is the plot. Tally lives in a world that when you turn sixteen you are to be sent off to under go surgery to become pretty and leave everything else behind. Tally waits impatiently for the day when she can finally become pretty and live with all her older friends who had the surgery before her. MOST OF THE SERIES IS AMAZING!!! I love the first three books but then the fourth one, Extras was kind of disappointing since there are different main characters. There is a fifth book but I have not started to read it yet. OVERALL I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!! ❤️❤️❤️

A few things that where a let down. The beginning didn't really make sense to me. But overall I loved the book. It was entertaining and I think Shay is my favorite character. Hope you love it also!

Childhood Favorite. I first found this book at a scholastic book fair when I was in the 6th grade. I have always felt that Tally was a very relatable character. This book is so good, Scott is an amazing author.

The banner on the cover is annoying. I love the book but, I just wish they would take off the "Scott Westerfield Afterworlds" banner on the cover because I did buy the book and I would at least want a beautiful looking cover. After all, let's be honest, that is one of the first reasons why people chose certain books and that is their cover.

AMAZING. This series is mind blowing!! If you want an addicting book that you can not put down this is definitely it!

Not for adults. I hoped this would be one of those YA series that's written for teens but enjoyable by adults, like Harry Potter or The Hunger Games. It's not. Good book if you're under 18, otherwise too immature in theme. Also Tally is annoying.

Good boring good. I really liked this book because it was exciting, the beginning it really gets your attention the middle is kind of slow. But the end is amazing , if u r a patient reader then u will love this book

So I had just finished the divergent series and I was convinced that I would never find a book I loved more, but then someone suggested this to me and I definitely found a new favorite. Tally is such a cool character to explore. Love the plot! Also not going to spoil but the ending is sooo awesome! I totally recommend! 😁

My favorite series. The uglies series has been my favorite series of a year and I recommend it to anyone who like futuristic society books, or anyone because it’s just that good.

Uglies. Uglies is an interesting story, unlike anything I've ever read before. The plot is a bit confusing at first but, as you go through the novel, suspicious actions occur and you become absorbed immediately. It does take a little while to begin enjoying the story and to get past utter confusion but, overall a very intriguing book.

Love, love love!. I LOVE this book! So good! the next two books are amazing as well.

Awesome. I’ve always seen this story in my middle school years but I haven’t picked it up until now. I enjoyed reading this but I do think it could’ve been a bit more on the plot but I loved it regardless.

I WISH I COULD RATE THIS 100000+ STARS!!. This book is soooooo amazing!!! I had to read this for school and we started about 5 days ago so we were only suppose to be on chapter 5. It was so good that on that fifth day I finished the book!!!! This is defintatly a MUST read!!

The rest of the trilogy is better!. This is a pretty good book. If you can make it through the first one, the others are twenty times better.

Perfect for those who love page-turners. This series is amazing!! Especially as you start getting into the series. It's one of those that you cannot live without seeing what happens next! Definitely recommended. Into something sorta similar but with more action? Try Divergent. How about something a little more romantic? Try the Selection. Good read for a 4th Grader. I want to be nice about this, but honestly it's really hard. This was a really bad book and basically a waste of my money. I had to read it for an essay to compare it against Fahrenheit 452 (great writing, Ray Bradbury was awesome) and I couldn't even finish the book. I had to read summaries of the ending. The writing is bland, the characters are not very believable and fairly obnoxious since sometimes they act out of character. It's overall just disappointing. If you are maybe in 4th grade I can imagine this being a good book to read. But YA is middle school and Highschool. The moral behind the story is good enough. Being pretty is being original, yourself. Because originality is beauty and the differences between us make us pretty in our own way. Besides that this book is awful.

Mehhhhh... this book needs some character development. Ok so I will give u this, the plot and storyline was great!! Very creative!! But I think that Tally just changes her mind about a million times throughout the series. Like, do u love David or Zane!?!? Who’s it gonna be!?! So yea that was really annoying. And all the characters didn’t have very relatable personalities. *SPOILER* Like, for example, David is “ in love” with Shay and then Tally shows up and just like that, he’s head over heels for her. Like WHAT?? All I could think abt is poor Shay. But yea that’s the only thing I didn’t like abt this series but otherwise I’ll give it a thumbs up. 👍🏼

Literally Garbage. Worst book ever I got little more the a few pages into and found it is one of the worst books ever written! I wanted to shoot the main character or my self just so I wouldn't have to read it. The head of the middle school pick out all the books and I knew just a few of the them to know all copies of them should be burnt or deleted. The person who picked them out is a kinda nice person, but she has AWFUL taste in books! I recommend if u can avoid this book as possible as u can. If I could I would tell the person who picked out the book list how much people dislike the books she picked out. My friend got stuck with a book where different people are repeating a story that happened in a chapter for FIVE of them! I hate this book and the others so bad, can someone put me out of my misery and shot me now like the would do with a sick animal. I wouldn't have even given this book one star if it didn't make me!

Amazing as always. Once I heard they were making a movie I knew I had to reread them! I read them all in middle school and am so excited to read them again now that I’m an adult!

Wonderful <3. My 17 year old cousin recommended this book to me, (I'm 13). We've both become obsessed with the series in a short amount of time. The way the book touches on the subjects of society's need to be perfect, social conditioning, and being yourself is honestly so unique and amazing. The idea of a distant future with hover boards and over-organized cities is interesting, another intriguing factor is the Specials in general. -Maria (Futurebound.exe)
