My opinion. Since I seen the movie "str8 outta Compton,I was curious to know more,so I got this book.. Honestly and in my opinion Jerry was not honest as he claimed in the book. Very clear to me he allowed Ice Cube to get under his skin(so many reference to Cube no vaseline). The thing that remains on my mind at this time, if Jerry really cared for these young men, and he was 3 times their age,and not just care 4 Eazy, and the talent Cube and Dre brought to the group, he would have been more interested in keeping everyone happy.Not just Eazy. Money talks, proven fact for 99% of america.Since Eazy had the doe and cube and dre had the talent, Jerry catered to the man who he thought made the group financially. However the book in general was 65% Nwa and the rest about Jerry. Its funny cuz jerry wants people to believe that cube, dre and the doc was the devil cuz at some point they realized they was were dealing with the devil.Not the one you expect, horns showing etc... Jerry was a yes man and took advantage of some premier as he called them guys but he never anticipated that the premier guys were smart enough to catch on. You know when when someone tells there side of the story and the you have 4 other people who told their side, makes u think!!! And Suge knight was a cancer to hip hop period!!!!!!!

Interesting but all over the place.. The book was mediocre and disorganized. Jerry did not steal a penny rather as much as write contracts that assured his advantage so what's the difference that's business I guess.....even if it's the black Beatles. RIP Eeasy E.

Another side to the story. Having been friends with a lot of label reps and reps from promotion & management houses in the early 00's I also felt the other side of the story probably held a lot more water than the accusations made over the years, reading this book I've come to understand even more how the central figures of NWA folded the band more because of general mistrust and heightened expectations than the reality of being treated properly.

Ruthless. This book open a lot about the west coast rap era I enjoyed the stories about the L A music scene It brought back a lot of good feelings of the music of the time That I grew up with John from LA LA Land

Ruthless. Overall mediocre book. Somewhere in the latter half I got lost in the web of "Hey I'm Jerry Heller and I'm gonna drop names from way back...and it goes on and on and on..." but it did have some interesting views on things. Often his timelines don't actually match up with records released by Ice Cube and even an Eazy-E album. Nevertheless I read it and it was slightly entertaining and minimally informative.
